Position Overview

The Novelis Information Technology team is seeking a Sr. Manager IT-OT Integration. The person in this role will report to the Director, Business Relationship Manager, MFG & SC. The ideal candidate will lead the relationship between several IT and Automation teams to align technology solutions and standards to serve the needs of the manufacturing sites, specifically with the group of technologies found within control rooms, operator pulpits, and equipment including testing labs and plant utilities. This position will drive technology standards to minimize risk to our operations and enable a scalable foundation for investment such as World Class Manufacturing, Digital & Analytics, and Plant of the Future.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Strengthen the alignment and coordination of the technology-related activities between IT and the Automation Group
  • Foster a working relationship between IT and Automation
  • Drive infrastructure, data, security, and application standards within the Automation Network
  • Balance the local automation needs with the IT standards to minimize IT risk and obsolescence
  • Create and drive a roadmap to address any infrastructure obsolescence and develop an ongoing program to keep current
  • Act as a strategic member of the MFG IT COE and a technical advisor to the Plant of the Future core team
  • Minimize IT risk within the Automation Network
  • Deliver projects to address technology obsolescence (tactical/reactive)
  • Create and deliver multi-year roadmaps as a preventive measure to avoid technology obsolescence (strategic/preventative)
  • Develop mechanisms for retaining institutional experience (knowledge management and retention)
  • Provide guidance to IT/OT integration project execution teams in creating and executing change management plans



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated ability in IT or MFG Automation field with preferred fields as: Service Operations, Application & Integration, IT/OT Infrastructure SME, Collaboration/Vendor /Partner Management, Project Management, IT Security & Risk, and application of data analytics to drive real time decision making throughout the manufacturing process
  • Strong experience in developing business cases aligned to a strategic IT roadmap
  • Working knowledge or experience on industry standards such as ISA 95 (Enterprise-Control System Integration); ISA 99 (IEC 62443 - Cybersecurity for OT) and ISA 88 (PDI/PDO structures - data exchange / MES Layer 3); NIST CSF or NIST 800-82
  • 10+ years IT experience across multiple MFG technology domains with specific experience in business service delivery
  • Experience influencing delivery teams, high-level individual contributors, and other people leaders
  • Strong knowledge of Change Management/ Implementation: Independently review, implement, and verify changes/solutions of moderate complexity and risk to the IT infrastructure needs within area(s) of technical responsibility
  • Experienced in Problem Management: proactively and reactively providing solutions to prevent problems from occurring in areas of responsibility, interoperating with the MFG and operating
  • Ability to collaborate closely across both IT and MFG, adept at building strong relationships across boundaries
  • Strong MFG processes acumen with the ability to connect IT strategy and solutions to organizational strategy and needs
  • Thought leader with the ability to influence outcomes and drive change: Ability to challenge the status quo and drive changes to improve performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
  • Strong written and verbal communication/presentation
  • Drives Results and has a continuous improvement mindset geared towards removing obstacles and embracing business agility: Identify opportunities to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the IT/OT operation standards, key personnel, and partners.
