Job Description
Your Career
We are looking for an experienced Immigration and Global Mobility Manager to join our Global Operations team. This individual will manage a team that will build an immigration and global mobility strategy, effective programs and processes, and help us scale to meet Palo Alto Network’s global growth. This role will report to the Director, Global People Operations, and partner closely with our Immigration and Global Mobility leads around the globe as well as our numerous immigration and mobility vendor partners, to help create a cohesive, scalable global mobility process and strategy for Palo Alto Networks.
We are seeking a colleague who enjoys working independently but collaboratively in a collegial team environment within a fast-paced and dynamic company where flexibility and choice is the name of the game. We would love a partner who can be empathetic to employee needs and priorities but at the same time build programs that are scalable and in line with shifting business needs and compliance obligations.
Global Mobility Strategy Management
Operate as the global SME in charge of building and setting the Global Mobility strategy for our 1, 3, and 5 year roadmaps
Support our global talent footprint by driving various Mobility initiatives across relocation and assignment policies, People Team operations support, accurate payroll and finance reporting, and our approach to rewards strategy for international movement to help drive the growth of our talent
Develop an immigration and global mobility strategy that also helps use location strategy to meet business needs while driving down costs
Identify areas for process improvement within our current global mobility processes and put plans in place to move our programs toward efficiency, automation, and scale
Define our global mobility strategy and align it with regional needs and requirements to ensure consistent management and engagement across our global business and teams
Build/influence program structure, policies and design to ensure our Mobility programs and policies stay consistent with market best practices for a business of size
Make recommendations for automated processes, systems, added vendor support, etc. where needed and appropriate to minimize manual intervention and work
Global Mobility Stakeholder Management
Be the accountable SME for Immigration and Global Mobility, including interfacing with Executives, Hiring Managers, and Employees on tricky or challenging immigration or global mobility situations
Partner directly with our people business partners, business leaders, and greater leadership to ensure our mobility policies and procedures stay abreast of shifting business needs and concerns
Partner closely with Talent Acquisition and Internal Mobility to ensure immigration and global mobility trainings are developed and delivered
Establish and maintain relationships with our global mobility vendor partners and ensure their level of support and key offerings keep in line with our overarching mobility goals
Directly support complex needs as they relate to individual employee assignments, executive support and movement, etc. as needed
Lead, plan and execute effective communications and mobility education for regional employees and partners - Talent Acquisition, People Business Partners (PBPs), People Managers, etc.
Help us coach the business on the correct mobility procedures and policies in order to avoid confusion, disruption, and employee/business dissatisfaction
In partnership with the extended team, create and maintain strategy documentation, policies, internal resource material, and educational support on an as needed basis to ensure our processes and procedures and clearly documented and accessible
Stay up to date on compliance updates and requirements and update policies and programs to align with any global/regional regulatory changes (with advisement to the Director, Global People Operations)
Qualifications
Your Experience
10+ years of progressive, relevant work experience with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory capacity
Proven track record of managing global mobility strategy and programs in a complex global environment
Proven history of ensuring critical stakeholders (PBPs, Managers, Talent Acquisition, Internal Mobility) are trained to follow guidance and best practices for all immigration and global mobility processes
Ability to build a program that can be adaptable to change
Ability to set, manage, and deliver within a reasonable budget, as well as the ability to make decisions and trade-offs based on holistic financial metrics.
You are detail-oriented, with an ability to quickly shift between details and big picture.
Superior language, written, and oral communication skills required.
Sense of humor and commitment to professionalism
Dynamic and team oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills, business judgment, strategic thinking, and work ethic
Able to work efficiently with cross-functional teams and manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
Comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer, the starting salary (includes on-target earnings = base + on target incentives for sales roles) is expected to be between $152,500/yr to $224,200/yr.
