Sr. Manager, Cyber Controls Pre-Testing & Reporting Team (Remote Eligible)
As a Senior Manager on the Cyber Controls team in Capital One's Cyber Governance & Risk Division, you will have the chance to lead and oversee Control Development, Control Enhancement, Control Execution, Control Testing and Reporting, and ensuring controls work meets quality standards. You will lead a team of control associates to ensure Capital One Cyber controls adequately mitigate risk, audit readiness, and aid in meeting business objectives.
A critical component of this role is the enhancement of our Cyber control environment, for which the Controls Lead will be responsible. Living in the Risk organization within Cyber, team leads partner with teams across both Cyber and the Enterprise to identify opportunities to strengthen our control and overall risk posture. As the leader for the Cyber Controls Pre-Testing and Reporting Team, you will have the opportunity to create, maintain, and implement a well managed controls framework. You will be expected to learn from established Capital One practices, apply them where feasible, but rely on out-of-the-box thinking to build and enhance the control environment. You will be responsible for leading and overseeing a team of controls experts, work directly with control performing teams, and report on control activities and results in a timely manner.
General Responsibilities:
- Manage end to end controls lifecycle management along with ensuring adherence to the Enterprise Control Standard
- Develop and maintain a robust control inventory to ensure that we have appropriate coverage
- Assist control performing teams with controls testing and validation
- Communicate control gaps and deficiencies, risk exposures, and changes to the risk profile to senior management
- Actively seek and report on opportunities to strengthen processes via automation
- Assist Audit, Technology Risk Management, or other teams testing Cyber controls to ensure a streamlined approach to testing and minimize impact to control performing teams
- Enable a strong culture of controls management that's adaptable to a changing environment
- Influence risk stakeholders through an active and collaborative environment
- Advocate and influence outcomes with Lines of Defense teams
- Assist and drive project and program delivery, to include project and process management, reporting, facilitation of senior leadership meetings, drafting and reviewing materials for senior management and the Board of directors, and other governance activities
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key partners across the enterprise and within Cyber
- Create and implement a strategic vision for the team
- Create and track progress against metrics and OKRs

Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
- At least 6 years of experience in Information Technology and Risk Management
- At least 5 years of experience in risk controls development and reporting
- At least 5 years of experience working with controls that mitigate or manage risk
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 7+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in a risk organization
- 5+ years of people leadership experience
- 7+ years of experience in information technology or cybersecurity
- 5+ years of experience in responding to and interacting with internal audit or regulatory agencies
- 2+ years of experience in risk automation
- 2+ years of experience working with PRIME, FUSE or GRC Systems of Record
- 1+ years of experience with Jira and Confluence
- Security+, CISSP, CEH, CCSP, or AWS Certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Location is New York City: $188,814 - $222,758 for Sr. Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Location is San Francisco, California: $199,983 - $235,935 for Sr. Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Remote roles in other areas of New York & California, and across Colorado & Washington: $159,978 - $188,738 for Sr. Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
