About the Job:
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Customer Insights to lead insights development on our current and future customers. You will report to the VP of Strategy and serve as an internal consultant supporting cross-cutting strategic initiatives and the needs of specific business units (eg, Marketing, Product).
You are a self-starter with a passion for audience research who is able to quickly assess business needs and bring structured, actionable insights. You will establish and maintain a well-organized customer insights library designed to support a growing business. You will dive deep on targeted projects, as well as establish a regular cadence to understand the competitive landscape and the health and needs of our existing and future consumers.
You will identify which insights tools are best suited to answering research questions, lead qualitative and quantitative data collection, and package findings in a way that makes your insights digestible and actionable for a variety of audiences.
Requirements
How you'll spend your time at Tovala:

  • Blend qualitative and quantitative data to build a robust, data-driven picture of our current customer profile, including customer segmentation
  • Establish a cadence for assessing the health of our existing customers and identify significant unmet needs through a blend of internal survey / NPS data, qualitative research, and social listening
  • Test the value proposition of new business opportunities to inform opportunity sizing, product development, and go to market messaging
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking to develop recommendations on Tovala brand and product positioning
  • Deep dive with current customers to understand root cause behind key moments in the customer journey -- acquisition, activation, and churn
  • Deploy customer insights tools to help answer specific research questions to inform new product and brand strategy

Requirements

  • 5-10 years experience in Customer Insights / User Research roles
  • Strong ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data into actionable insights
  • Strong command of customer insights tools, including, but not limited to: survey and questionnaire design, A/B testing, listening labs, social listening tools, 1:1 interviews, focus groups, participatory design sessions, ethnography, persona development, and market segmentation.
  • Data analysis skills -- You can quantify the business impacts of your recommendations and are familiar with a number of statistical tools to analyze and visually present customer data and survey results. Bonus if you know SQL / have used Looker.
  • Excellent research skills -- You are skilled in competitive benchmarking and adept at finding sources of customer insights data that live outside the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and manage change
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and teams with and without express authority
