As the Sr. Events Management Associate, you will work as a part of the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) global Firmwide Event Marketing, Sponsorships and Tickets, and Creative Services team, which focuses on strategic direction and execution of franchise third-party conferences, client events and creative services. The focus will be working on third party conferences and vendors in Global Payments business across regions.
You will plan and execute events presence at third party conferences by collaborating with a broad range of business partners within Event Marketing as well as with the Payments business and other areas of the firm. Also, you will assist other team members in strategic execution, plans and protocols, in addition to joining project workstreams and data maintenance. The goals are to help the Payments business increase awareness of our J.P. Morgan brand and capabilities in growth areas - eCommerce, Fintech, Mobility, etc. as well as to ascertain which conference would benefit the Payment business the most. Also, to deepen existing client relationships, learn to improve efficiencies for all internal partners and maintain the J.P. Morgan brand standard. You will report to a senior event marketer on the team.
Job responsibilities

  • Learn and apply the fundamentals of the business, target audiences and department goals and translate the knowledge into successful client events.
  • Manage all aspects of third-party conferences including evaluation survey, budget development, create and manage booth duty schedules, post-event follow-up, etc. In addition, work with external vendors on third-party components including exhibit design, manage warehouse inventory, premiums, review proposals, process invoices, etc.
  • Work closely with internal team to streamline the management of booth assets and inventory, consolidate premium orders, etc.
  • Manage planning teams, direct inquiries to the proper individuals or departments, and answer inquiries on events
  • Work independently on multiple programs and tasks to deliver event-related projects at the same time with different Event Marketers as the lead. In addition, collaborate with other marketers and Marketing on event data and analysis as well as assist in the development and reconciliation of event budgets
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of events, including but not limited to venue research; data maintenance and integrity; internal and external communications; invitation process; compliance review, pre-event tasks - i.e., audio visual, technical requirements, catering; delegation housing and registration; on-site staffing and support; post-event tasks, such as creating and tracking survey data and supporting debriefs; b ecome a 'super user' of core event related technologies.
  • Responsible for administrative tasks, e.g., manage, review, and reconcile reports (RSVP, delegation, registration, etc.); managing event supplies and shipping; premium research and ordering; and production tasks of event materials like name badges, biographies, speaker introductions, briefing memos and printing.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience in event marketing, preferably in the financial industry and a BA degree
  • Detail-oriented and organized with a strength in project and data management. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including editing and proofing with a strong sense of time management, prioritization and ability to execute against deliverables
  • Proactive, self-sufficient, resourceful, and motivated, ability to multitask and be flexible in a high-energy, fast-paced environment and problem solve/think independently
  • Willingness to be a team player and consistently interact with peers, partners, management, relationship managers and clients and must be able to tackle any task, trouble shoot and exemplify a positive attitude and commitment to success
  • Requires early mornings and late nights and some travel


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Expert in Microsoft suite, especially Excel (i.e., pivot tables, V lookups) and PowerPoint (i.e., interactive links, incorporate audio/visual icons, animation), proficient in SharePoint and firm-wide systems or ability to quickly learn systems
  • Proficiency in Spanish
