Edward Jones is seeking a senior level Resilience and Risk leader with significant experience in leading matrixed teams across multiple departments and risk capabilities.
This role is responsible for a large dynamic group with significant breadth of scope and will require experience leading multiple disciplines along with senior level functional leaders and their respective first line of defense functions such as Business Resilience & Continuity, Third-Party Risk , Crisis and Emergency Response, Safety & Security. Therefore, experience in a large matrixed organization is strongly desired.

Role Summary:

This position reports to the Head of Enterprise Workplace Solutions and has overall leadership responsibility for the firm's Resilience & Risk Mitigation group including the design framework, organizational infrastructure, oversight & leadership of multiple enterprise wide risk functions & capabilities.

This leader will develop and deliver high quality integrated risk mitigation functions through both comprehensive proprietary support efforts and key third-party relationships designed to assist the firm in achieving & preserving business objectives.

As Risk Owner, leader is responsible for envisioning and creating a strategy for each functional area informed by organizational needs and in alignment with the strategic priorities of the firm. Sr. Director is responsible for setting goals and overseeing all major initiatives. Role is broad in nature and requires the individual to draw on multiple resources from across the firm. Sr. Director must work with leadership team to identify and evaluate opportunities to mitigate risk and proactively work to support current needs as well as prepare for the future. There is heavy emphasis on leadership and development of leaders as well as communication across the firm and coordination with both internal and external parties at all levels. Confer with senior most leaders across the firm to ensure alignment with firm priorities and broad understanding relative functional/firm risk.

Sr. Director must demonstrate leadership skills to engage, inspire, and influence others in an environment that fosters inclusion, collaboration, coaching, and development.

Position Requirements

  • Leadership is the priority competency required in this role. The successful candidate must have the ability to lead, develop and build diverse, high-performing leadership and functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field and Advanced Degree preferred15 years of functional knowledge/experience required in multiple, broad Enterprise Risk/Enterprise Workplace Services functions.
  • 10+ years in a senior leadership position in organizations of similar size and scale
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing leaders as well as broader matrixed teams in a complex corporate environment.
