Job Description Summary

The Senior Director, Global Risk Management is responsible for the development and administration of Asurion's global risk management programs. The Senior Director will work with Asurion's leadership to identify a corporate risk tolerance and will provide strategic plans to implement appropriate risk transfer solution. The Senior Director will serve as a point person for all insurance risk management related matters across the global enterprise, including responsibility for managing the insurance carrier and broker relationships.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively communicate insurance coverages, requirements, and market conditions to senior management and key stakeholders
• Develop and advise Asurion on global risk strategies and define appropriate risk transfer structures to align with risk appetite of the business; assess financial impact of different insurance program structures
• Manage and develop risk management staff.
• Oversee collection and organization of data for insurance program submissions
• Collaborate with internal partners to prepare comprehensive presentation materials in support of underwriter renewal meeting activities
• Manage insurance company relationships in coordination with insurance brokers
• Effectively prepare and manage budget
• Keep abreast of changing market conditions and inform leadership of major developments affecting coverage
• Proactively identify trends, develop strategic plans, recommend solutions, implement risk reduction/ transfer methodologies to mitigate future losses and present findings to management as necessary
• Directing the purchase of insurance programs and renewals
• Once risks are discovered, compile data and information into well-organized reports with graphs and statistics to support findings
• Solve complex issues and offer strategic recommendations to leadership
• Build credibility across Asurion as a subject matter expert
• Senior Director will understand the other activities and roles within the Underwriting team and contribute to the functional leadership of the Underwriting team
• Lead ad hoc special projects demonstrating strong project management skills

What You'll Bring to the Team:

• Extensive knowledge of risk management, insurance coverage, policy language, alternative risk financing including captive insurance programs
• Ability to analyze contracts, insurance requirements, certificates of insurance and other related business documents to assure accuracy and most favorable terms to the Company
• Self-motived and proactive, always looking to change or improve processes
• Strong negotiation skills
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively gather and review large amounts of data when evaluating risks
• Ability to build and lead collaborative teams to resolve cross-functional complex issues and present clear, concise recommended solutions

• Strong problem-solving skills are essential, must be able to use data from conclusions and identify strategies to approach potential risks.
