Job Description
What you will be doing:

  • Develop and implement supplier cost savings strategies across multiple categories
  • Analyze key supply markets and establish relationships with leading partners
  • Lead and develop global team of procurement professionals in analyzing, sourcing, negotiation, contract development, and the award of contracts across Corporate Services spend categories
  • Lead executive level conversations across FIS as needed
  • Manage complex negotiations with third parties and ensure benefit for FIS
  • Interface and build strategic relationships with key stakeholders globally, including business leaders, Finance leads and Legal
  • Resolve performance related issues/escalations with third parties
  • Proactively identify and mitigate category risks; partner with internal risk teams to ensure all deals are compliant with relevant requirements
  • Identify and drive strategic category direction, prioritizing workload, and project assignments for global team
  • Gain a thorough understanding of stakeholder's business strategy, and requirements, to develop category and supplier approach
  • Periodically plan and execute comprehensive expense category reviews and manage regional sourcing processes
  • Build and maintain awareness of external marketplace and industry trends related to category and third parties.
  • Deliver a superior customer experience to internal clients worldwide
  • Develop and implement a vision and strategy and successfully deliver a robust Supplier Diversity and Sustainability program that ensures strategic alignment with FIS Inclusion and Diversity and Environmental and Social Governance programs. This includes defining an appropriate resource model and staffing the function as appropriate. Policy development and defining short- term and long-term plan is required.


What you bring:
To be successful, this individual should possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation and management, supplier performance and relationship management, and strategic procurement projects / contracts / negotiations
  • Deep knowledge of relevant global supply markets
  • Demonstrated understanding of business, financial, and economic ramifications of various procurement actions and alternatives in order to recommend appropriate actions
  • Track record of successfully implementing procurement initiatives including achieving savings targets, negotiating complex deals, and delivering process improvement
  • Strong communication and influencing skills and ability to interact with all levels of the FIS organization
  • Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to identify and assess key drivers of success, implications of alternatives and recommendations for execution
  • Direct experience leading complex negotiations, including understanding tradeoffs between strategic and financial drivers and contractual protections
  • Outstanding relationship skills with ability to collaborate and influence across levels with internal and external partners
  • Ability to learn and develop a working understanding of FIS businesses and requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to distill complex issues quickly, effectively communicate strategies, and summarize key points and implications
  • Effective leadership skills and commitment to mentoring, coaching, and developing a team of direct and, potentially, matrix reports, located around the world and virtually
  • Strong Project Management skills with proven experience in successfully managing and executing multiple, large-scale initiatives
  • In depth knowledge of Supplier Diversity trends and program development


Experience should include:

  • 10+ years of strategic sourcing, or relevant experience with deep Corporate Services concentration, including Marketing, Human Resources, Facilities and Travel Services. Experience with Corporate Travel Programs and related technology platforms is highly desired.
  • Building and leading Supplier Diversity and Sustainability Programs, preferably globally
  • Demonstrated success developing and leading high performing teams that deliver quantifiable results, including cost reductions
  • Understanding of key contracting concepts and legal terms
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial modeling, and business case development, evaluation, and presentation
  • Superior business savvy and commercial negotiation skills
  • Excellent third-party negotiation strategy formulation and execution
  • Supplier / third-party management and development
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Process driven with strong analytical and problem-solving skills


Education:
Bachelor's degree required, graduate degree preferred; business, economics, finance, supply chain, or related studies preferred
Preferred Licenses / Certifications:
Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Professional in Supply Management, or similar distinction preferred; Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt equivalent or greater preferred
