Job Description:
The Senior Business Control Specialist will assist in evaluating requirements from multiple sources across multiple jurisdictions and comparing them to policies, standards, procedures, processes, and controls to determine if the requirements will impact the Core Technology Infrastructure organization. This will entail interpreting regulatory requirements, developing business requirements to create/enhance automated intelligence capabilities to scan and compare the requirements to existing requirements to identify gaps, and preparing multiple types of risk assessments.
This position consults with various partners across the firm (policy owners, standard owners, process owners, control owners, regional risk partners, application owners and other subject matter experts) in a highly matrixed organization to socialize the requirements, develop remediation plans to address gaps, and assist the partners in achieving and overseeing compliance with the requirements.
Required Job Skills:
Deep understanding of a wide array of IT Infrastructure Technology concepts:

• Infrastructure Technology (networks, servers, platforms, data centers, operating systems, midrange/mainframe)
• Incident and Problem Management Remediation & Reporting Requirements
• End to End Infrastructure Technology Lifecycle Requirements
• System Development Lifecycle Management (SDLC) concepts (focusing on Application Production Support Requirements)
• Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery concepts
• Information Security concepts
• Governance/Oversight concepts
  
  • Experience reviewing/analyzing requirements for impact to policies, standards, procedures, processes, and controls
  • Good research, analysis, and problem solving skills with the ability to learn and assimilate to new concepts quickly
  • Experience in an IT Risk or IT Audit field
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to collaborate with partners through multiple types of risk assessments in a highly matrixed environment
  • Ability to be nimble and adjust easily to change and urgency, while being thorough in providing governance/oversight (critical capabilities)
  • Above average documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently, with limited direction, and is evaluated through end results
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to act as a liaison between technology teams, risk teams and executive leadership teams
  • Ability to distill complex concepts into meaningful language for a wide array of audiences

Desired Job Skills:

• Experience in Banking Technology
• Familiarity with industry standard frameworks (i.e. ITIL, COBIT, NIST, etc)
• Familiarity with the major regulations or regulators impacting the financial services industry (Sarbanes Oxley, Dodd Frank, GDPR, FFIEC, CFTC, EBA, etc.)
