About Levity:
Levity (levityhome.com) is a new brand in the Ruggable portfolio. Launched in December 2020, Levity’s mission is to build and deliver innovative furniture products that let our customers live without worry. Much like Ruggable rugs, our patent-pending Chair Systems have removable upholstery that can be washed in a home washing machine and easily interchanged for new styles. Though it varies across functions, we operate largely independently (think: startup within a startup), giving you the unique ability to help shape the early trajectory of this new business.
Job Summary:
As the Sourcing Manager, you will play a key role in the growth and success of Levity. You will be both a decision-maker and innovative thinker across the Global Supply Chain organization. More specifically, you will lead development across the sourcing business unit and drive continuous improvement with our vendors. You will be responsible for bringing best in class products to life.
What You’ll Do:
- Build strong relationships with Levity furniture and upholstery vendors as well as cross-functional teams to help foster an environment of partnership and trust
- Negotiate favorable terms and first costs with suppliers and ensure products are designed for manufacturing.
- Manage seasonal and/ or new launch calendar creation, continuous improvement, and adherence.
- Lead the sourcing and onboarding of new suppliers, factories, and regions.
- Track vendor capacities and performance and make recommendations to grow, maintain or decline.
- Streamline protocols, procedures and expectations with both our internal team and factories.
What You’ll Need to Have:
Required:
- 5-7 years in Sourcing, and/or Supply Chain experience, across an outsourced and offshore manufacturing base
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of manufacturing processes within assigned categories
- Proven negotiation expertise
- Strong financial reporting and quantitative analysis capabilities
- Ability to be agile and flexible in a startup environment
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business or related field
- Furniture (including upholstery and hardgoods) experience a plus
- Highly engaged and qualified supplier base contacts
