As a member of the Internal Platform Team, you will work closely with the engineering, product, security, and support teams to develop infrastructure, runtime, and pipeline automation that enables and empowers through self-service capabilities with our internal developer platforms.

The Internal Platform team requires a mix of systems and software engineering skillsets and disciplines. Our team has front-row seats in empowering our product teams through SDLC lifecycles and championing DevSec and SaaSOps practices, continually examining the next improvement opportunity. We create a smooth deployment experience by shielding internal teams from the ever-growing complexities of the underlying infrastructure and providing standards, and guard rails while balancing internal team autonomy.

We are responsible for the enablement and ownership of the reliability, scalability, automation, evolvability, security, and any issues related to the act of building and operating software. We live at the forefront of innovation as we work to accelerate MasterControl's competitive advantage through automation and end-to-end process improvements - in short, we are never done!

The Site Reliability Engineer contributes to the success of the Internal Platform Teams SaaSOps disciplines. We define SaaSOps as a practice referring to how software-as-a-service applications are managed and secured through centralized and automated operations, resulting in reduced friction, improved collaboration, and better employee experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer, manage, and provision our always-available cloud-based infrastructure, data lake, and deployment pipelines, participate in on-call rotations supporting our Internal Developer Platforms (IDP)
• Influence and promote, standards, and methods for large-scale enterprise systems.
• Embed with and advocate for other technical operations, product, engineering, and support teams ensuring their operational success with their products and micro-services.
• Define and execute standards for deployments at scale, infrastructure, reliability, and scalability, and iterate and optimize for continual improvements.
• Instrument observability in our systems for reliability, high availability, performance, and efficiency of our next-generation products.
• Drive the adoption of and enforce service level objectives (SLO)
• Champion continuous improvements using Accelerate metrics to systematically drive down detection (MTTD) and mitigation/restoration (MRRT).
• Foster blameless postmortems and Just Culture, supporting investigations of outages and/or problem-solving issues.
• Document procedures, policies, and technical instructions building an internal knowledge base to support the Internal Platform team.

Required Experience:

• 2+ years of combined experience administering or operating production systems or internal systems as a Systems Administrator, Systems Engineer, or equivalent operations role managing large-scale global systems requiring 24x7 availability.
• 4+ years of combined experience with scripting and automation in at least one of the following languages: Bash, CloudFormation, PowerShell, or Terraform
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Solutions Associate or equivalent experience and/or equivalent experience with Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Provider (GCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience with containerized workloads and the deployment and administration of Kubernetes (K8s) or equivalent container runtime orchestration framework.
• 4+ years of combined experience in software development, scripting, or automation experience in at least one of the following languages: .Net Core, C#, Go, Java, Python, or Ruby.
• 2+ years of experience with cloud-managed and distributive networking services and protocols.
• 4+ years of experience administering, maintaining, managing, and operating any of the following categories:
  • Distributed systems leveraging web-scale technologies such as Linux, Apache, Nginx, NoSQL, RDBMS, Redis, Postgres, Kafka, or Kafka Streams.
  • IAM, PAM, and Secrets Management solutions and technologies such as Duo, HashiCorp Boundary, HashiCorp Vault, StrongDM, or Teleport
  • Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions such as Apache Airflow, Databricks, H20 AI, Hugging Face AI, or GCP's Vertex AI.
  • Observability Systems such as App Dynamics, Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafana, Graphite, Honeycomb, Icinga, Loki, Mimir, New Relic, Open-Telemetry, Prometheus, or Tempo
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environments.
• Capability to meet multiple, challenging deadlines while communicating expectations clearly.
