Position Summary: The Site Merchant Associate is responsible for listing merchandise online using multiple platforms and preparing that merchandise for shipment. The Specialist will also be required to interact with internal and external customers through various platforms, including the phone. The associate will also be responsible for checking the returns inventory stock status by performing physical examinations, tests and counts in order track, assess value, and continuously update item status.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Post items for sale on various platforms such as Mercari.
  • Process Internet orders, cost-consciously pack for shipment, correctly label each package, hand off to shipping carrier at the end of the day.
  • Formulating pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities, determining additional needed sales promotions, authorizing clearance sales, and studying trends.
  • Achieving all financial objectives, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Securing merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
  • Ability to offer and describe various solutions and their benefits to the customer.
  • Checks actual inventory against computerized records. Reports any discrepancies in inventory records to manager.
  • Tests products to ensure they work correctly.
  • Ability to follow specific detailed process steps and keep consistent records.
  • Ability to embrace constant change with flexibility and good grace.
  • Demonstrated desire to expand skills into new areas.
  • Demonstrates appropriate sense of urgency and adaptability in response to changing business needs.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Education, Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with Mercari platform.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Technical (Computers & Internet) savvy is required.
  • Desired skillsets include MS Office Application Excel and Internet Explorer / Google Chrome.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Possesses physical strength necessary to lift, push, pull and carry 50 lbs. boxes and other heavy items on a regular basis.
  • Experience with listing items on sites such as Ebay, Craigslist, Facebook, Offerup and letgo.
  • Pays close attention to detail.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Experience in retail and/or inventory sector is preferred.
