Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide ServiceNow ITSM Administration and Functional/Development Support to ITSM users
  • Configure and customize ServiceNow ITSM application and related integrations
  • Driving Service Management processes in ServiceNow as well as supporting on-going enhancements to both processes and the tool
  • Collaborate with ServiceNow engineers and architects to ensure solutions are developed for quality, resiliency, reusability, and enterprise scalability
  • Provide leadership, direction and coaching to an agile team by encouraging them to adopt and mature good scrum processes
  • Support ServiceNow upgrades
  • Drive agile delivery processes
  • Drive Application Production releases
  • ServiceNow production support
  • Interact with ServiceNow vendor via HI portal
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced staff
  • Creation of technical and functional documents for ongoing maintenance items and projects

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Computer Engineering/Math/MIS - Equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience will be considered
  • 5+ years of ITSM development and administration experience in an enterprise environment
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow components such as Service Catalog, Change/Incident/Problem Management, Asset Management, PPM, Discovery, Knowledge management
  • Solid understanding of a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and its relationship to asset management and IT service management processes
  • Experience with technical ServiceNow components such as: business rules, client scripts, UI policies and actions, UI pages and macros, script includes, catalog items, workflows, web services, reports, etc
  • Experience with working or developing in the following programming languages: HTML 5, CSS3, JavaScript, JavaScript API, Client and Server-side Scripting, ServiceNow API's, Web Services
  • Solid Knowledge of the ITSM/ ITIL Framework
  • Solid Knowledge of ITIL principles and experience applying ITIL guidance to IT service
  • Excellent knowledge of ServiceNow Best Practices and ongoing knowledge of latest ServiceNow features
  • Ability to obtain favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense eQuip Form SF86

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ServiceNow automated testing framework (ATF)
  • Scrum Master Certification
  • ServiceNow System Administrator Certification
  • Experience with ServiceNow automated discovery tool
  • Experience with Workflow and Approval configuration


As a requirement of UnitedHealth Group's contract with the Department of Defense, this position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense eQuip Form SF86, (the National Agency Check Legal and Credit or NACLC). Successful completion of the NACLC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role. NACLC processing will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer, and can take 3-6 months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense. Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received. Failure to obtain final NACLC approval will result in termination from this role.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $87,900 to $156,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
