The Senior Team Leader of Real Estate Systems will be responsible for the delivery, maintenance, and support of packaged third-party systems to support Whole Foods Market’s Real Estate, Store Development, and Repairs & Maintenance functions. This leader will also be responsible for ensuring high availability of these applications and the integrations into and out of them and adherence to Whole Foods Market’s standards for operational excellence and customer experience. This leader will interact frequently with leaders in the Store Development and Real Estate functions to ensure alignment on priorities and customer satisfaction. This leader will also partner with other leaders in the Enterprise Back-Office Systems & Support team to ensure cross-functional system governance and system integrity across the entire back-office systems portfolio. The right candidate will lead the team by fostering innovative thinking, setting high standards for delivery, quality, and performance, and encouraging and supporting team member growth, development, and happiness.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead, set, and promote the technical vision and architecture and own the technical specifications for Real Estate and Store Development systems
  • Develop and maintain a technology strategy that informs roadmap, investment, and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Own the systems in the portfolio through the complete lifecycle, from needs assessment and evaluation all the way through to end of life and retirement
  • Ensure systems in portfolio are compliant with regulatory, security, and organizational policies, procedures, and standards
  • Partner with Product Management function and business partners to prioritize and deliver on work requests of highest strategic value
  • Design and improve support processes and manage support operations to meet service levels and customer experience goals
  • Manage service issue escalations from stakeholders and resolve in a timely fashion, ensuring effective communication is always maintained
  • Analyze support issues to identify opportunities for improvement of system quality and performance
  • Champion exploration of new ideas, capabilities, and technology that improve the experience and capabilities of business partners
  • Shift comfortably between big picture, strategic thinking and tactical planning to achieve expected outcomes
  • Demonstrate knowledge and respect of Whole Foods Market’s Core Values and Leadership Principles through leadership style
  • Provide leadership and coaching to team members and help create career development paths based on individual goals and company needs
  • Establish and implement best practices and processes to ensure effective and efficient team functioning
  • Manage team and project budgets and forecasts actively to minimize variance
  • Estimate, plan, and staff projects appropriately and monitor to ensure delivery
  • Manage third-party relationships and ensure adherence to established service levels and expectations for performance and quality

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technology, business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a software delivery manager or manager of enterprise applications, leading teams of engineers, technical analysts, and program managers
  • 3+ years of experience developing and managing applications supporting corporate construction, real estate, real estate asset procurement, repairs and maintenance, and equipment monitoring applications
  • 3+ years of experience leading large enterprise projects, developing, applying, and coaching others in the use of best practices
  • 3-5 years of experience working in Agile (Kanban and Scrum) and waterfall environments
  • Experience delivering and managing portfolio of on-premise and cloud (AWS) applications as well as SaaS applications
  • Deep knowledge of current landscape of construction, site planning, and repairs and maintenance systems and experience managing Procore and Verisae (or similar systems)
  • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses and leveraging insights to inform decisions
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, written and oral, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams of business and technical stakeholders without formal authority
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and deliver expected outcomes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proficiency with Excel, Tableau, or other similar tools

Desired Skills/Experience (Any of these is a plus):

  • 3-5 years of experience architecting and designing enterprise solutions
  • 5-10 years of experience developing applications or integrations with package systems
  • Experience managing Procore and Verisae for a retail business
  • Knowledge of current landscape of equipment monitoring systems and experience delivering and managing such systems
  • Experience working with applications integrated with Coupa and Workday
  • Experience delivering and managing applications supporting Indirect Procurement (e.g., Ariba, Coupa) and Indirect Tax (e.g., Avalara, Vertex)
