Provides technological, business and strategic guidance and leadership to the WFM organization. Responsible for the coaching, mentoring and professional development of Team Members. Identifies opportunities for enhancing the Technology organization’s capabilities to support and achieve overall business objectives. Successfully collaborates with various levels of the organization, including the executive team. Develops and oversees the execution of long-term strategies to maximize systems, applications and infrastructure quality and efficiency. Prioritizes initiatives and projects based on their impact to the organization, resource requirements and cost restraints. Viewed as a change agent and champion of WFM’s vision, mission and values. Keeps current with technical and industry advances and may represent WFM with external industry boards or organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads individual and team activity associated with longer-term and/or more complex projects and IT operations.
  • Coaches and mentors staff, challenging the team for creative solutions, innovative applications, cost savings and improvements in service delivery.
  • Consolidates, rationalizes and prioritizes customer requirements to help define strategy and timeline for features and enhancements.
  • Regularly engages with customers and business leaders to identify, address and resolve issues and concerns, including those associated with service levels.
  • Acts as a key service or process evangelist and expert for the team.
  • Uses a variety of data analysis tools and methodologies to ensure team meets or exceeds operational, contractual and service level commitments.
  • Adapts team priorities to respond to customer or business needs while maintaining adherence to budget and timing considerations.
  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting to senior leadership.
  • Provides direction and develops other leaders and senior members of the team.
  • Monitors team activity, documentation and reports, developing insightful interpretations and recommendations for senior leadership’s consideration.
  • Ensures proper and impactful resource allocation and priority setting across teams.
  • Reviews IT and business requirements and team recommendations and makes decisions to satisfy business needs.
  • Leads discussions with customers / stakeholders to understand critical business success factors and KPIs.

Skills:

  • Drives decision-making and team focus through solid understanding of the company’s operations and strategies.
  • Must have proven experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructure across various technologies using ITIL and related methodologies.
  • Cloud Experience a plus. Prior experience as a systems administrator a plus. Automation experience a plus
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, windows, network and systems administration, database management, data storage systems, and VMware management.
  • Teaches others on best approaches to solve problems.
  • Plans and negotiates deliverables and timelines with senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Recommends strategic / business adjustments based on program effectiveness, regional / business partner feedback, anticipated direction, identified challenges, and trends.

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree and 6-8 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 2-4 years’ leadership experience.
