Description
SAIC's National Intelligence Community (NIC) Business Unit, USG Mission and Information Technology Division provides solutions and services supporting digital modernization programs in areas such as system engineering, cloud computing, cyber security, data science and analytics, artificial intelligence/machine learning, application development, SecDevOps, network operations, and secure communications.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join a team of qualified and diverse infrastructure support professionals in Chantilly, VA. The qualified candidate will support the operations and maintenance (O&M) of the customer's infrastructure which consists of multiple highly virtualized Linux and Windows environments. Key duties include maintaining operating systems, application support, and infrastructure support.
Responsibilites include:
- Providing operations and maintenance support for multi-tenant virtual server hosting infrastructures and associated services to include storage, server infrastructure, backups, and VDI infrastructure (Examples of responsibilities include patching, monitoring, log management, incident/problem escalation support and troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.)
- Ensuring the infrastructure operates with high availability per customer requirements
- Maintaining, supporting, and identifying efficiencies with Windows domain services (DHCP, DNS, AD, Group Policy, Certificates, File Services)
- Providing dedicated expert support for troubleshooting of infrastructure issues and user questions
- Providing direct support and cross-trainining to other server infrastructure teams to alleviate single points of failure
- Providing meeting responsibilities to include investigating and recommending other viable hardware and software solutions as appropriate
- Interpretting and implementing systems, processes, and security specifications to maintain organizational IT standards
- Providing formal documentation and status reports to fulfill organizational compliance requirements and serve as reference material for others teams
Qualifications
- TS/SCI with polygraph
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of nine years of hands-on experience working in technology-based positions to include systems administration experience (Linux/Windows OS)
- Experience with patching, log management, and creating, implementing, and updating an incident/problem ticketing system
- Knowledge of storage and backups
- Experience with VMware, performance tuning and monitoring
- Direct experience in at least four of the following skill ares: Windows Server (2016/2019), Windows 10, Linux (CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu, Debian), Virtualization (VMware, vSphere, vSAN, vRA, vROps, NSX-T, AWS, Azure, Horizon View, HyperV), Storage (Disaster recovery, replication, SAN, NAS), and/or Networking (routing and switching, firewalls, load balancing, DNS, DHCP)
