Senior Systems Administrator - ServiceNow
Cox Enterprises is hiring a Senior Systems Administrator - ServiceNow who will be responsible for the stability, availability, and security of platform components and related applications. Performs day-to-day administration, minor configuration, and operational support of the ServiceNow platform and implemented applications. Participates in continual process improvements that will improve efficiency or effectiveness of the team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide systems administration hands-on support and troubleshooting of the ServiceNow application, related integration, and overall platform.
- Maintain the stability and usability of the ServiceNow platform across production and non- production environments
- Leverage platform functionality to perform minor configurations to support end user requests
- Drive troubleshooting of issues identifying root cause and working with cross functional teams, or with the ServiceNow vendor as required to address issues in a timely manner
- Monitor Health, usage and overall compliance of the platform and implemented applications
- Perform ongoing module licensing reviews tracking trends
- Maintain and execute the production update plan and adhere to change management and system development lifecycle policies and procedures to drive to a successful deployment
- Review and activate platform plugins as assigned
- Develop dashboards/reports to provide visibility of the operational state of the environment for managerial review.
- Contribute to and maintain system standards, policies, procedures, processes, and support documentation
- Communicate ServiceNow process, operations, and capability information to stakeholders
- Analyze existing processes to identify opportunities to automate daily maintenance activities and routine tasks to increase productivity where applicable
- Identify system deficiencies and recommend solutions for continual service improvement
- Assists in upgrade planning and procedures
- Adhere to existing platform governance process for support, maintenance and agreed SLAs
- Serve as a project resource to successfully complete assigned tasks
- Remain current and proficient with new application capabilities and propose ideas that improve efficiency or effectiveness
Job Qualifications - Experience/Education/Training:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems or related field, and 4 years of experience in performing System Administration of the ServiceNow platform or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Working knowledge administering the ServiceNow Platform including ITSM (Request, Incident, Problem, Change, Service Catalog and Knowledge) , ITOM ( ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB ), and HR
- Fundamental understanding of ServiceNow platform capabilities.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction from management to accomplish administrative and operational tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to handle numerous tasks, deliverables and/or projects concurrently while meeting deadlines.
- Flexibility and willingness to work during non-standard business hours as needed
- Ability to think clearly in high pressure situations, to resolve critical issues
Preferred:
- Experience working closely with development teams, software vendors and IT service providers.
- Strong technical foundation and knowledge of the ServiceNow platform.
- Experience with ServiceNow upgrades, patching and cloning.
- Skilled at maintaining and troubleshooting integrations with 3rd party applications
- Demonstrated understanding of ITIL processes, operations, and procedures
- Basic understanding of the systems implementation life cycle
