The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Storage Consultant to join the Red Hat Consulting Strategic Practice Team. In this role, you will provide consulting support to Red Hat customers on Red Hat Ceph Storage and Red Hat Gluster Storage, as well as associated Red Hat service offerings. During project delivery, you'll be responsible for all aspects of project fulfillment, making sure that customer expectations are met and deliverables are completed to the customer's satisfaction as described in the statement of work. As a Senior Storage Consultant, you will also work on designing, architecting, and documenting storage solutions that meet customer requirements, delivery of implementation services like installation and configuration, and troubleshooting. In between billable consulting engagements, you'll resolve support tickets. We'll need you to have a balance of technical expertise, passion for open source, and a deep understanding of IT problems faced at the enterprise level, particularly impact on their storage subsystems. You'll also need good communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, as you will be assigned the most challenging projects and interact with senior-level staff on the customer's side. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

• Provide technical consulting, assistance, and enablement to customers on Red Hat's storage technologies, particularly concerning Red Hat Ceph Storage
• Represent Red Hat to the customer and ensure customer engagements always result in high levels of customer satisfaction
• Engage customers for requirements analysis, document business use cases, prioritize requirements, and design custom-tailored storage solutions with Red Hat Ceph Storage
• Develop designs for storage architectures of varying scale; present product features and benefits to customers
• Answer questions using your knowledge of the Red Hat Ceph Storage system and sophisticated processes
• Work with the Engineering team and clearly communicate problems and solutions
• Develop and deliver relevant solutions, including workshops, migration tools and guides, reference architectures, and related solution collateral
• Provide product training through webinars and workshops
• Help escalate and resolve partner technical support issues
• Mentor and coach junior team members
• Travel frequently in the future to work alongside leading financial services, retail, telecommunication, and institutional customers, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines

What you will bring

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
• 10+ years of IT industry experience
• 5+ years of experience with Linux, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), system configuration, and administration
• 5+ years of experience with storage technology
• Familiarity with popular cloud operating systems, in particular Red Hat OpenStack Platform or Red Hat Openshift Container Platform
• Good understanding of DevOps tools like Chef, Puppet, or Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform
• Solid knowledge of Python and Bash
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) qualification or equivalent combination of skills and experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Knowledge of open source technologies and industry trends relating to open source
• Excellent time management, decision making, presentation, human relations, and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a remote office environment
• Experience with software-defined storage technology like Red Hat Ceph Storage or Gluster is a plus
• Experience with Eucalyptus, CloudStack, or VMware vSphere is a plus
