Senior Procurement Administrator
STR is hiring a Procurement Administrator to efficiently process Purchase Requisitions and source, bid, and negotiate the purchase of goods, materials and services to meet the Company’s operational requirements.
The successful candidate will purchase goods, materials and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply. Candidate will have expertise in review of all types of Agreements and service contracts and be experienced at negotiating changes in the best interest of STR. Candidate must be well-organized and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and communicate effectively
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Review and negotiation of services agreements of all types to improve terms of business, mitigate risk for STR, and negotiate pricing with suppliers
- Process Purchase Requisition Tickets (PRT) from an on-line Ticket workflow system. Involves each Buyer claiming PRTs in a timely manner according to category. Process includes populating the Team Master Excel Spreadsheet with PO number and pertinent Purchase Requisition data, resolving questions/issues from the PRT, updating the PRT with questions, status information, checking the PRT for valid approvals & charge codes, entering the Costpoint Purchase Order and issue to vendor, monitor status of orders and post tracking/delivery notes to PR tracking system, and closing the PRT.
- Handle persistent internal customer inquiries regarding requests for orders, status, changes, invoice payments, and cancellations
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues
- Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements
- Build, maintain and manage relationships and keep up good communications with internal customers and outside suppliers
- Provide analysis on costs, new and existing, and review cost reduction activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

- BA/BS degree preferred with eight or more years of progressive experience with government acquisition. In lieu of formal education,12 years of related experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and experience working within government contractor procurement systems.

- Well-organized and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and communicate effectively

- Keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills/abilities
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of Deltek’s Costpoint purchasing software
- Knowledge of SharePoint software

- US Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance
Work Location
- The work is based at STR’s Woburn, MA location; however work from home is available for most time from most locations.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to remain in a stationary position approximately 85% of the time, e.g., constantly operating a computer with multiple monitor connections and other office productivity machinery
- Able to create and deliver reports/presentations, as needed, and engage in frequent communications with co-workers, management, and customers
