THE ROLE
Vestmark has been supporting clients’ direct indexing solutions for more than a decade. As we embark on our next stage of growth and evolution, Vestmark Advisory Solutions seeks a Senior Portfolio Manager to help lead and expand our initiatives in direct indexing. This person will be a senior member of the investment team and play a critical role in the development and launch of direct indexing solutions, overseeing the management of personalized portfolios, as well as leading and mentoring other members of the investment team over time. In addition, the senior portfolio manager will act as a thought leader in direct indexing, working with stakeholders to drive the growth of personalization solutions as well as new products and asset classes. This position can be based out of Wakefield, MA, Jersey City, NJ, or Remote
Key Responsibilities:
- Be a key contributor in the development and implementation of direct indexing solutions
- Oversee ongoing portfolio management of direct index portfolios including portfolio construction, rebalance, tax transition and tax optimization
- Provide and present performance analysis, portfolio reporting and monitoring of direct index strategies
- Work closely with product, sales, client operations to ensure client success and delivery of client investment objectives
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve investment processes, and enhance investment management tools and systems
- Provide subject matter expertise to mentor and educate team members and internal stakeholders
- Support sales, marketing, and corporate strategy to provide thought leadership and drive growth and adoption of personalized solutions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required, Graduate degree and CFA designation strongly preferred
- 10+ years of investment management experience with majority in hands-on portfolio management
- Experience managing direct index portfolios in a fast-paced and highly scalable environment
- Experience in tax loss harvesting and maximizing tax efficiency
- Expertise in direct indexing, ESG and sustainability investing, tax alpha generation, and related data, tools and processes to implement as such
- Sound understanding and extensive experience using equity risk models and portfolio optimizers
- Experience working with technology and operations in building and implementing investment processes and systems
- Effective leader and mentor with strong organizational skills, results oriented
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, team-player
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
