Job Overview:

Our Sr. Operations Specialist in Mutual Fund Corrections will be responsible for reconciling accounts, daily reports, and processing and validation of cash and securities transactions; additionally, while performing basic financial and/or regulatory functions, they will ensure compliance with all prescribed internal policies and regulatory practices. The ideal candidate has excellent data entry skills (both numeric and alpha), is accurate and timely, and will be expected to review client accounts, answer questions from internal and external clients, escalate items to management, and follow up on pending items in a timely manner. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be a team player, possess excellent time management skills, work well in a fast-paced environment, and have the ability to multitask with multiple operational processes and multiple data input platforms.

Responsibilities:
• Review accounts and perform reconciliations to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and procedures as well as reconcile suspense accounts and validate transactions.
• Actively work with Mutual Fund sponsors and 3rd party vendors to request, process, and follow up on trade corrections performed in client accounts.
• Be proactive and remain cognizant of deadlines and regulatory requirements.
• Effectively communicate with advisors, mutual fund sponsors, and other operational groups to resolve various account discrepancies.
• Actively participate in learning activities in a way that makes the most of the learning experience by applying the knowledge to daily responsibilities.
• Recognize issues, problems, or opportunities and determine whether action is needed
• Make connections & offer creative recommendations on how to solve business challenges.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance or related field
  • Minimum 2 years' experience general brokerage industry knowledge
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook



Core Competencies:

  • The ability to work in a cross-functional team and multi-task in a fast paced deadline driven environment
  • The ability to prioritize responsibilities to ensure deadlines provided by regulators and firm are followed and identify and manage firm risk
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and willingness to speak up, talk to advisors and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to evaluate business opportunities and evaluate results against established objectives



Preferences:

  • SIE certification, S7 or S99 preferred
  • Prior experience working with mutual funds
  • Refinitiv/BETA experience
  • 1-2 years of financial experience
