We currently have an opening for a Sr. Operations Manager to join our amazing team where you'll be on the front lines contributing to awesome member experiences! That same experience applies to co-workers, the community and our vendors.
SNAPSHOT…
We are looking for a Sr. Operations Manager to work out of our Reno 3PL and manage all day-to-day operations while working closely with corporate stakeholders. If you are someone that enjoys strategizing, building systems, improving efficiency, and working autonomously, this role is for you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Represent the Thrive Market operations team in day-to-day management of our 3PL’s fulfillment operations to ensure member orders are shipped on-time, in full and accurately
- Collaborate with the local 3PL team and Thrive Market fulfillment teams to develop, implement and audit standard operating procedures
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in the 3PL’s operations and drive implementation of changes
- Act as a liaison between Thrive Market and the local 3PL fulfillment team
- Effective verbal and written communication skills – able to issue direction and achieve results through direct reports
- Significant knowledge and experience working in e-commerce, WMS, and distribution environments to enable effective decision-making and problem-solving
- Ability and willingness to vary schedule to meet business and team needs, including weekends, if needed
- Must ensure compliance with Company and employment policies, safety policies and guidelines
- Partners effectively with Human Resources (TAO), finance, procurement, merchandising, and IT to reach business and compliance goals
- In the absence of the FC Director, effectively leads the FC operations and Thrivers
- Identifies training and development needs – supports (and may lead) training efforts if needed
- Accepts and completes special projects as designated by the FC Director or other Corporate Leadership/Partners
- Responsible for Quality, Productivity, Safety and Teamwork in his/her assigned areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for consistent application of Company performance, safety, quality, teamwork expectations
- Participating, as requested, in the interview and selection process, orientation, and/or recruitment events
- Drives continuous improvement – may lead/participate in specific continuous improvement projects
- Responsible to achieve specified workplace metrics
- Assists in the investigation of workplace accidents and/or employee complaints
- Assists in the creation of standard operating policies and workflow processes
- Creates and maintain paper and/or electronic documentation reflecting Thriver coaching and/or corrective actions
- Must be able to ambulate through the fulfillment center, standing for long periods of time in a FC environment of fluctuating temperatures and levels of humidity
- Must be able to effectively demonstrate basic work functions within the facility for training/demonstration purposes (receiving, picking, packing). This includes the ability to lift up to 40# on a regular basis
- Must be able to reach above shoulder height, bend at hips and/or knees to reach product on lower levels of racking
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor or Masters degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or related field – or 5-10 years applicable prior distribution/fulfillment experience
- Enjoys interaction and engagement with employees
- Proven skill in organization, communication (verbal and written), and multi-tasking
- Excellent problem solving and customer service skills
- Sound judgment, decision-making ability, reliability and confidentially
- Attention to detail and strong time management skills
- Computer savvy with proficiency in MS Office, Google Docs, WMS – High Jump
- Enjoys working in a high energy, challenging environment
- Responsible, proactive, trustworthy and ambitious
- Enjoys taking ownership of projects and being accountable for their results
- Emotional Maturity – able to lead, as well as, work as part of a team
- Ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information
- Maintains a professional demeanor that inspires trust and respect
- Takes initiative and works well independently, but also a strong team player
- Ability to work under pressure, often deadline driven environment and ability to perform several tasks concurrently
- Willingness to find opportunities for process improvement
- Ability to speak effectively in front of groups
- Must possess critical thinking, problem solving skills and superior attention to detail
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%, as necessary
