Senior Manager, Risk Manager
As a Senior Risk Manager in Capital One's Card Technology Risk Management team you will apply your risk management skills, combined with analytical, data anyand project management to our Top House (TOH) Card Technology Risk Management projects.
You will lead a team of Risk Specialists responsible for working across the Card Technology enterprise to develop and implement risk solutions to ensure Capital One's continued stability and success.
Senior Risk Managers partner with Executives and their teams as a subject matter expert to identify existing and potential emerging risk in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded.
Senior Risk Managers at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent partnering, people, project management and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding, documenting and analyzing current state capabilities using one or more risk methods.
- Leverage industry benchmarking to determine best practices and lessons learned regarding components of the Risk framework.
- Provide input to the writing and revision of risk governance documents such as policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
- Develop and enhance processes, tools, templates, and job aides.
- Write, contribute to, edit, and deliver presentations that aid in the design, development, refinement, and usage of Risk methods and enhance our risk management culture.
- Collaborate effectively across multiple organizations such as Operational Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Business Risk Offices, Operational Risk Sub-Steward organizations, Information Technology, Basel Program, Internal Audit, Regulator Relations, etc.
- Provide business intelligence based on defined metrics and relevant management information
- Deliver risk management output in alignment with the strategy as defined by the business being supported and with the mandate set by the Risk Executive
- Provide training and general guidance to stakeholders
Basic Qualifications :
- At least 7 years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, Data Engineering, or Technology Process Management
- At least 5 years of Project Management experience
- At least 7 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients
- At least 2 years of Agile experience
- At least 2 years of People Manager experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Financial Services Risk management experience
- 7+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk
- 5+ years experience setting direction, managing expectations, and leading cross-functional teams
- PMP Certification or Masters Certificate of Project Management (CPM)
