As a Senior Risk Manager supporting Executive Risk Reporting, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate risk reporting to Card’s Business Chief Risk Officer and Leadership Team, consulting on key risk themes, and enabling our Executives to effectively manage the risk to achieving their business strategy. Risk managers at Capital One are highly motivated professionals with excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills. They are forward thinking, quick to adapt, and technologically adept. A successful candidate in this role will possess a foundation of knowledge about Card, laws and regulations, and risk management practices -- coupled with an ability to leverage detailed reporting to hone horizontal insights to highlight key themes for executives.
Responsibilities:
Lead Executive and Regulatory Risk Reporting for Card Risk, including monthly and quarterly deliverables to the Risk Oversight Committee, Card Leadership Team, and external Regulators
Oversight of monthly Risk Insights Report and MBRs for Card Risk
Partner and liaise with leaders across Card Risk and the 2nd Line to understand insights and write the storyline for Leadership
Own and manage definition and reporting of key risk indicators for Card
Stay abreast of the changing regulatory environment and understand the impacts to Card
Collaborate across Card Risk, building connections across Reporting and Risk Assessment Activities
Highlight key risk themes being raised across the First, Second, and Third Lines of Defense
Oversee reporting delivery processes, including liaising with reporting developers
Manage a team supporting these key responsibilities
An Ideal Candidate:
Is focused on quality, timeliness, and accurate reporting delivery
Can summarize a storyline from data
Is both detailed-oriented and strategic, while managing delivery within tight timelines
Strong reporting background, data visualization, and executive communication
Is a critical thinker, seeking to understand the business and its risk environment
Basic Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience in Financial Services or Risk Management
At least 3 years of experience in Process or Project Management
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or Military experience
5+ years Financial Services or Risk Management experience
5+ years Process or Project management experience
2+ years experience in Analytics, Reporting, or Data Visualization
2+ years of Agile or Design Thinking experience
Risk Certification (CRCM, CAMS, CIPP, ABA, CRMA)
