About the job
The Red Hat Information Technology IT Application Development team is looking for a Senior Manager to join us. In this role, you will lead software engineering projects in one of our key Red Hat domains (subscriptions and offerings). You'll work to foster the Red Hat culture within your team among some of the most talented developers who will share your attention to detail and desire to solve unique business problems.Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Manage programs, define milestones and success criteria, and allocate resources
  • Develop tools and processes to improve software engineering productivity and team trust within the Red Hat culture
  • Build positive, trusting relationships through consistent, on-time delivery of commitments and effective communication with our stakeholders and management
  • Ensure that incidents are managed and resolved quickly and that retrospectives and root cause analyses are completed within expected timelines
  • Develop and grow team members through coaching, feedback, and escalation support
  • Be a member of a highly integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business information systems, management information systems, or a related field
  • 10+ years experience working in technical roles, including software development, reliability engineering, or live service operations
  • 8+ years of escalating management and leadership experience overseeing application development teams
  • 5+ years of experience operating in a complex, agile delivery environment
  • 5+ years of experience managing spend for services under your purview
  • Customer service mindset, including continuous improvement and the ability to deliver multiple priority projects with high customer satisfaction in a rapidly changing environment
  • Experience implementing integration design patterns, especially in a microservices or event-driven architecture
  • Ability to understand, discuss, and manage deep technical issues to resolution
  • Solid record for developing highly capable and productive global teams through supporting and empowering team members to achieve their potential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to customers, partners, and other stakeholders
  • Business insight and skills to engage leaders on business terms and deliver solutions typical of a market-leading enterprise software company
  • Continuous delivery experience is a plus
