Senior Manager, Issuer Outreach at Checkout.com
As Senior Manager, Issuer Outreach at Checkout.com, you will be responsible for leading Checkout.com’s Issuer Outreach engagements in the USA. Working closely with Checkout.com’s analytics team, you will interact with Issuers to raise, investigate and resolve soft declines and other payments performance discrepancies, and unearth improvement opportunities. In addition, you will engage with external stakeholders across forums and thought leadership venues to develop and strengthen existing and prospective merchants’ and partners’ awareness of Checkout.com’s capabilities and focus on payments optimization to drive more business growth for its customers.
You will be experienced and expert in the processes of authentication, issuer risk and fraud management. You can speak with authority and conviction on best practices used by issuers and acquirers throughout their customer lifecycles. You will provide insights on Checkout.com’s approach to detect and root out fraud consistently and precisely.
You will be a passionate advocate for Checkout.com’s merchant-centric approach, by taking the lead in engaging issuers and merchants, developing and refining the communication and messaging, to strenghten Checkout.com’s position as a leader in comprehensive data-driven payment solutions.
To help accomplish your responsibilities, you will work with the Financial Partnerships, Performance, Business Intelligence and Customer Success Teams, to ensure a well-rounded view of payments performance and to develop a deep understanding of Checkout.com’s approach. You will be familiar with Checkout.com’s wide suite of data analytics tools and will showcase case studies for external audiences that quantify and convey the impact on revenue, consumer satisfaction, and ultimately loyalty, achievable through a performance-oriented approach.
The ideal candidate must be experienced and well respected, with an affinity for problem solving, eager to ensure that our ability to improve our authentication and authorisation rates keeps up with, and supports, our customer growth and our ambitions. This is an external facing role, supporting one of the key competitive capabilities of Checkout.com, and will require the ability to engage with Issuers at all levels.
You will join an ambitious team of partnerships professionals, data scientists and engineers who are working to significantly move the needle within an area that has high strategic importance to Checkout.com.
What You Will Be Doing
- Drive Checkout.com’s Issuer Outreach Programme in the USA.
- Deliver Issuer engagement and provide insight on Checkout.com’s Data Analytics value proposition to merchants
- Partner with Commercial Teams to provide insights on Checkout.com’s merchant centric approach to business performance improvement.
- Articulate how Checkout.com’s proposed solutions improved merchants’ performance & revenue for both the merchant and the company (internal / external ROI)

About You
- 7+ years’ experience in Payments in a data intensive and performance-focused environment
- Excellent communication skills with payment industry gravitas
- Executive presence with an ability to take initiative and find creative solutions & effective ways of communicating business solutions
- Recognised industry expert capable of navigating into complex Issuing organisations
Plus: Prior programme level work in Authorisation Optimisation, Risk/Fraud Management or Data Analytics is preferable
