Collins Aerospace Systems Digital Technologies is looking for a Sr Manager of Infrastructure Operations, who will be primarily responsible for providing strategic and tactical leadership in UNIX server space. This position is a manager of people and will develop and manage relationships with technology vendors and suppliers, internal and external business partners, and collaborate with senior IT management to accomplish the goals and objective of the organization.

This position can be remote or hybrid, with ability to travel as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead day-to-day UNIX/Linux administrator operations team
  • Hire, train, and mentor operations team
  • Ability to manage projects with tight timeframes
  • Handle escalation and communicate to leadership
  • Deep dive into complex technical problems and find solutions
  • Work with cross-functional and outsourced teams
  • Focal point for audits & property accounting

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to travel up to 20% for business related meetings
  • 7+ years technical experience
  • 3+ years of people or project lead experience
  • Experience leading technical teams with successful implementations
  • Demonstrated strong strategic thinking and communication skills
  • Proven ability to interface with a diverse group of people within a global setting
  • Experience with 24/7 production operations
  • Experience with Data Center relocations / migrations
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors in a mixed environment of outsourced and insourced functions
  • Individual must possess an in-depth knowledge of multiple OEM HW and versions of Linux/OS Operating Systems
  • Able to work periodically outside of normal business hours as business needs dictate
  • Excellent communications skills - ability to engage in deep technical discussions with customers and peers and become a trusted technical advisor
  • Communicate risks, issues, challenges, and status/progress of projects

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Government assessments & compliance requirements (DFARS / NIST 800-171)
