ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Back Office Senior Manager at BlueVine, you will be responsible for ensuring that funds flow appropriately each day, that off balance sheet accounts are reconciled, and that exceptions are dealt with in a timely manner. You will work closely with product managers to continuously improve your department's processes and increase automation of manual processes.  You will also be responsible for risk issue management and will be expected to lead efforts to reduce operational risk for the DDA Risk Operations team. The Back Office Senior Manager will be responsible for growing, developing, and training a team of Payment and Back Office Analysts that will work across Wire, ACH, Check, and other non-customer facing risk processes. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead and manage a team of payments/back office analysts that clear exceptions, reconcile accounts, and ensure that ACH, Check, Bill Pay, and Wire transactions are executed appropriately
  • Utilize technologies and techniques to reconcile off balance sheet accounts, clear breaks, and report discrepancies; work with Finance, Product, and other teams to resolve issues directly
  • Communicate with bank partners on issues and work across departments to resolve technical issues 
  • Develop process maps, procedures, and policies for your team to ensure a consistent and regulatory compliant experience; work with Product and Risk Automation to constantly improve your processes 
  • Educate staff and contractors on payments, reconciliations, and risk management
  • Identify operational risk trends across issues, identify solutions, and implement corrective plans
  • Ensure customer facing risk issues are resolved in a timely manner and in compliance with associated regulations
  • Work with legal department to ensure compliance with relevant regulations

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • Bank/FinTech back office, payments, or operational risk experience preferred; 7+ years of experience, with 2+ years of experience leading/managing a team
  • Relishes solving tough problems that have no obvious solutions and deals well with ambiguity
  • Able to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Maintains a positive attitude and stays determined when the going gets tough
  • BA / BS degree in Business Administration, Finance, or similar
  • Impeccable judgment and acute attention to detail
  • Familiarity with deposit operations, financial statements, and/or reconciliations
