Summary

The Senior International Trade Manager (SITM) is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of international trade and logistics for import and export related ventures for select product lines, ensuring all policies, trade and regulatory requirements, logistics requirements and deadlines for applicable transactions are met successfully and efficiently.

The SITM will work closely with applicable internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all filings, documents, regulatory and compliance requirements as well as financial requirements are completed accurately, on time and according to evolving trade laws and policies.

The SITM will be responsible for identifying and leading initiatives that improve efficiency and effectiveness of import and export processes and procedures.

The SITM also keeps informed of international and industry related events and changes that may impact current and future international business ventures.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee, manage, and execute all import & export related processes and procedures for select product lines

  • Work closely with key internal stakeholders as part of the import/export process: Regulatory, Procurement, Trade Compliance, Finance, and other applicable departments
  • Work closely with key external stakeholders as part of the import/export process: Freight Forwarders, Logistics Partners, Participating Government Agencies and others as possible
  • Work closely with key supplier contacts to ensure accuracy and timeliness of transactions
  • Provide oversight, expertise, and refinement to import/export processes and procedures to improve efficiency, limit redundancy and optimize resources

International Supply Chain and Logistics Management

  • Oversee and manage all supply chain and logistics requirements for applicable transactions
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with select 3rd party logistics providers
  • Assist in Incoterm negotiations and management with applicable suppliers
  • Work with applicable internal and external stakeholders to determine the most cost effective and efficient transportation method and vendor for select transactions

Strategic Project Management

  • Assist with management and execution of select, strategic projects as defined by leader
  • Project assistance scope and scale will be determined based upon business need and timing

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university. Preferably a degree in International Business, International Trade, International Logistics or similar

Relevant Experience

  • 8+ years related experience and/or training

Other Information

Required:

  • Experience in International Logistics, International Trade, International Procurement or related field (combination of experience and higher education will be considered)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and execute multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders and drive successful results
  • Demonstrated ability to execute tasks in an efficient manner
  • Demonstrated ability to perform at a high level with minimal supervision

Preferred:

  • Masters or other higher education
  • Licensed Customs Broker
  • Importation experience
  • Ocean freight experience
  • 3PL experience
  • Experience developing and/or implementing effective international sourcing strategies is a plus
