About You and The Role  

The role of the Senior Facilities Manager is to ensure the success of Zipline’s engineering, operations and manufacturing teams by maximizing facility up-time, safety, habitability, and cleanliness. You will oversee facilities management and administration and also supervise external contracts and vendors. You’ll receive assignments in the form of objectives and determine how to resource appropriately to meet goals with urgency. Our ideal candidate plays a critical role in maintaining our company’s culture by prioritizing the employee and visitor experience at our offices. What You'll Do  

  • Implement and oversee facilities, ground maintenance, and custodial service contracts with a particular focus on cost and key performance indicators. 
  • You will lead the facilities team to achieve operational excellence and employee satisfaction in day-to-day services such as catered meals, office cleanliness, office administrative services, and repair and maintenance.
  • Coordinate materials and services necessary for the repair, maintenance, and upgrade of building and site infrastructure.
  • Supervise Hazardous Materials and Hazardous Waste compliance programs.
  • Assess current and upcoming facilities and infrastructure needs while analyzing risks, alternatives, mitigations, and improvements, preventative, and corrective maintenance programs. 
  • Manage and troubleshoot repairs in a timely manner with the highest level of safety, quality, and reliability. 
  • Partner with outside firms as required for capital improvements to new and existing facilities, and serve as Construction Manager for facilities capital improvement projects.
  • Organize and maintain projects, files, drawings, permits, and other appropriate documentation.
    • Provide Project Start-Up task tracking including contracts, proposal letters, work authorizations, creation and/or maintenance of project directories, cloud-based file sharing sites, opening project and sub-project numbers. 

What You'll Bring 

  • 3-5 years of experience in facilities management in light industrial facilities with relevant experience in facility capital improvement. 
  • Ability to effectively prioritize with strong time management skills in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail. 
  • High level of professionalism and strong sense of urgency. 
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 
  • Proficiency in Slack, Google Suite or equivalent proprietary software. 
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance; proactive, motivated self-starter. 
  • Flexibility and ability to handle and manage change effectively and efficiently.

What Else You Need to Know   

This role is based in South San Francisco with the expectations to travel locally up to 20-30% of the time to our office in Half Moon Bay.
