Senior Director, Operations, North America

The Senior Director of Operations will be a member of the Growth Leadership Team and will be responsible for leading our Operations organization through a focus on speed, efficiency, and driving repeatable results. This individual will create business rules, training programs and systems that optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of the operations team. The Senior Director of Operations will work in tandem with the SVP, Client Success on developing a set of client “GumGum Packages” to meet the needs of advertisers as well as agency partners, ensuring that campaigns deliver in full with expected KPIs, all SLAs are adhered to, as well as doing whatever it takes to grow profitable clients, from jumping in on clients calls to partnering with the Client Success team.
The role requires that this senior leader set the roadmap, goals, and strategies for the team while still being capable of direct execution. GumGum is looking for a client success leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, has a growth mindset while also keeping an eye towards scalability and efficiency as the company prepares to go public in the next 12-18 months.

Responsibilities
- Operations Team Leadership
- Oversee GumGum Ad Operations, Design, & Campaign Management team productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met.
- Drive effective recruitment, onboarding, professional development, performance management and retention of Operations team members.
- Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement division wide goal setting and performance management.
- Ensure team members are having the best possible GumGum experience by inspiring managers and holding them accountable to deliver meaningful feedback and coaching to their teams, evidenced by regular feedback requests, 1:1’s, quarterly reviews and recognition.
- Maintain career pathing, job descriptions and a blueprint of the team’s structure.
- Seek out and implement best practices for Operations teams through conversations with other Operations leaders or groups.
- Role Models Company values behaviors and ethical leadership.
- System and Process Architect
- Stay up to date in Industry best practices on Operations and continually develop a culture of continuous improvement driving both greater efficiency within the team and delivering higher levels of accuracy.
- Ensure processes and systems are well documented, maintained and drive scalable growth.
- Brainstorm, initiate and lead specific cross-departmental projects that increase the company’s overall efficiency.
- Team lead in helping develop and implement new processes and procedures within and across the operations department.
- Commercial Delivery - Responsible for the internal execution of $120m in campaign revenue.
- Report regularly on KPIs to the Chief Growth Officers, including but not limited to performance, capacity and team forecasting.
- Work directly with the Accounting Department to make sure all final reporting is quickly and accurately completed so GumGum can bill accordingly.
- Help streamline new product releases and make sure the operations department has the proper training and documentation to effectively manage sales and client expectations.
- Stakeholder Management
- Meet regularly with Senior Leaders to make sure clients' needs are being addressed and prioritized by the team.
- Discuss and implement opportunities to increase collaboration between Sales and Operations teams.
- Update process and collateral with feedback from sales and customer success leaders to craft solutions that match client needs with GumGum’s offering.
- Collaborate with BI & Customer Success on developing insights and reporting that will benefit our clients.
- When issues arise, own a Root Cause Analysis or Reflection (whichever is needed) to identify areas of improvement and implement fixes.
- Meet regularly with Senior Leaders to make sure clients' needs are being addressed and prioritized by the team.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS or equivalent working experience.
- 10+ years-experience in Operations (or equivalent) including 5 in leadership position
- Relevant industry experience supporting Digital and Programmatic Advertising
- Excellent track record of driving a culture of performance
- Successful experience working in an entrepreneurial, venture-backed environment
- Proven experience managing teams including hiring, effective communication, feedback, and development. Proven ability to recruit, lead, and coach a team of high-achieving sales professionals.
- Successful experience monitoring and evaluating client success team progress against stated expectations, in addition to aligning and changing behavior with performance expectations
- Proven ability to to work with senior leaders from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences to produce great outcomes
- An expert in the advertising industry; familiar with the major players in the space for measurement, reporting & validation.
- Must be an autonomous, decisive leader and decision maker, with excellent leadership and coaching ability
- Personality profile to fit into high-growth, venture-backed entrepreneurial culture that requires teamwork and significant interaction with employees at all levels
- Ability to work collaboratively and in partnership with cross-functional teams to the benefit of GumGum
