This position sits within our Virtual Learning Business, specifically in Pearson Online Learning Services (POLS), helping to support our various academic partner institutions in Higher Education.

Your role:

In this role you will be accountable for overseeing the strategy and execution for the learner journey from inquiry through to enrollment conversion. Partnering closely with Student Support Services, IT, Marketing, and others, you will synthesize and leverage learner insights to design journey maps, programs, and experience enhancements that result in seamless, supportive experiences for learners, resulting in better learner outcomes and increased conversion. You will lead and manage learner journey improvements via ongoing and project-based initiatives with a mix of internal and external partners as necessary.

  • Design and lead delivery of a learner experience strategy, roadmap, and outcomes across product lines in the POLS portfolio
  • Develop and drive adoption for a holistic learner experience vision and standards.
  • Drive consistency across learner interactions, experiences, and product lines, leveraging data across multiple sources.
  • Ensure learner data is sourced and synthesized to produce actionable insights that drive enrolment and learner outcomes.
  • Drive more visibility, transparency, and accountability for learner success across teams.
  • Lead the case for solutions, including technology, to continually optimize the learner journey
  • Work successfully across divisions within POLS and larger Pearson, including Innovation & Product Strategy, Marketing, IT, Business Development (BD), Partner Success Business Unit Teams, and others as needed.


Your qualifications:

  • An advanced degree from an accredited institution or an appropriate combination of education and significant experience
  • 8+ years of experience in a similar role and preferably in a leadership position for 4+ years
  • 4+ years of experience working collaborative across the range of services
  • 4+ years of experience in the customer experience and marketing fields, preferably in the education space
  • Experienced in translating organizational strategy into digital processes and programs that enable scale
  • Track record of leading and influencing others in a constructive manner to build and sustain collaborative relationships
  • A demonstrated ability to work remotely with minimal supervision (this is a remote-accessible position) under highly-dynamic workloads with the ability to be highly effective while managing shifting internal expectations and priorities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders to drive action
  • Ability to work creatively, using a variety of resources with a track record of developing actionable recommendations from research data with a comfort level in using data to support or refute assumptions and recommendations
  • Experience with or understanding of key voice of customer and CX technologies, including but not limited to Medallia, Qualtrics, etc.
  • Passionate about staying up-to-date and engaged with industry expertise
  • Superior analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills to analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and present research and strategy
  • Focused attention to detail, excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure and tight timelines
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communications skills effective with broad and diverse audiences


While this position is remote-eligible, it includes the potential of up to 20% travel. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
