The purpose of this role is to establish Lilly as a forward-looking and collaborative partner in Immunology by identifying and addressing strategic business and educational opportunities through active collaboration with professional organizations and external experts (Thought Leaders or TLs) within the specialty of Gastroenterology (GI); with the ultimate goal of creating and delivering innovative and impactful initiatives that deliver true value to key stakeholders. The Gastroenterology Customer Strategy Lead Senior Director is responsible for leading US GI Thought Leader Engagement and P2P/Congress strategy and execution across Mirikizumab for Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and any future gastrointestinal products/indications, including Mirikizumab for Crohn's Disease. The primary responsibilities of this role include:
• Hire and lead a team of field-based Thought Leader Liaisons (TLLs) to actively identify, coach, monitor and partner with Lilly's Gastroenterology speaker's bureau to ensure strong education and training of the faculty and ensure effective P2P education and implementation for current and future brands
• Develop and lead ongoing partnership with approximately 20-30 top US GI TLs• Partner with both the US Mirikizumab brand team regarding P2P strategy including content development and P2P implementation. Bring external feedback from TLs to the brand team and create a constant feedback loop for an aligned GI approach• Partner with the newly formed GI sales force for effective P2P implementation• As the GI portfolio grows, prepare for future new product or NILEX launches specifically in the P2P and Congress space• Create an overall strategy across GI Congress presence for a "One Lilly" approach• Ensure all compliance, legal and regulatory policies are adhered to through our P2P execution by working closely with those functions to monitor and constantly improve our P2P implementation. Ensure all interactions are consistent with commercial compliance, regulatory, and legal guidelines

Key Objectives/Deliverables: The Gastroenterology Customer Strategy Senior Director's responsibilities are listed below. They may not perform all the tasks listed.

Objective 1: External Landscape Management (50%)
Thought Leader Management and Development • Identification of, and partnership with, Gastroenterology TLs (including speakers and advisors) for promotional and educational opportunities• Lead the work for annual selection of brand speakers and ensure frequent communication to Faculty Administration to answer speaker inquiries and share feedback

Speaker Management and P2P Education Implementation • Responsible for the GI speaker's bureau and overall P2P education strategy and implementation• Work with TLL team to partner with faculty members and impart direction, coaching, and engagement with senior leaders at Lilly• Plan and manage annual faculty training(s) and create brand alignment regarding content with annual compliance training• Manage speakers' compensation capacity and contracting decisions• Understand and utilize Centralized Payment Services (CPS), Lilly Lecture Bureau (LLB), Customer Program Portal (CPP) and other brand interfaces
• Provide guidance to the field regarding speaker issues and track speaker utilization and program execution
• Manage speaker violations and ensure compliant direction is given by regularly monitoring P2P programs

Gastroenterology Congress Strategy and Implementation: • Collaborate with the Centralized Congress Team (CCT) and the brand teams to lead the annual GI Congress sponsorship and execution plan• Lead overall budget management and allocation from brand teams in conjunction with CCT and regularly evaluate current and new opportunities
• Attend key Gastroenterology meetings (CCC, DDW, AIBD, GhAPP, ACG, GUILD, etc.) and develop a strategic thought leader engagement plan for each Congress. Interact with customers, attend presentations of areas of current/future interest, meet with the executive boards and meeting organizers to better understand educational objectives and how Lilly can support future sponsorships

Objective 2: Brand Strategy Collaboration (25%)
Customer Experience • Provide input and create direction for a positive GI customer experience with brand teams and other internal stakeholders
• Partner in strategic collaboration with the brand team for unique P2P content for promotional and/or disease state education that is a leader in this therapeutic area
• Partner with the Senior Director of GI Advising to ensure our TLs see us as "One Lilly" regarding all interactions, especially the creation of P2P and disease state education content• Recommend and monitor key insights with brand in partnership with Lilly Market Research
• Participate in development of elements and materials for annual Brand Plan and Customer Council

Sales Force Meetings • Support vision, content creation, and goals for sales meetings and trainings• Coordinate any efforts or inclusion of TLs at sales meetings and trainings

Objective 3: Operations Support (25%)
Gastroenterology budget ownership • Develop the business plan and manage allocated budget regarding P2P and Congress activities• Manage detailed budget for responsible tactics (MMB, accrual process, transfers to CCT, buy-ups, etc.)

Partner Relationship Management • Responsible for facilitating sales force input with P2P/TL engagement tactics
• Accountable for day-to-day relationships AoRs and/or external vendor partners
• Complete Senior Director level training on Veeva Vault Promo Mats (VVPM) to create and approve content for field and faculty communication

Risk Management • Responsible for understanding, implementing, and adhering to company policies, processes, and external obligations• Monitor TLLs as they coach faculty on messaging for compliant education• Monitor TLLs for appropriate ITP completion

Minimum Experience/Personal Skill Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree
• Ability to work cross-functionally• Prior field experience and/or biologic sales or marketing experience• At least 7-10 years of industry experience and/or one of the following:

o previous P4 or P5 marketing assignment

o previous District Sales Manager or other leadership role

o equivalent marketing/industry experience

Leadership: • Demonstrated ability to deliver high performance with high integrity across teams• Consistent demonstration of the Team Lilly leadership behaviors relevant to a Senior Director level role• Cross-collaboration expertise and demonstrated success for optimized outcome across many internal teams• Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to communicate clearly and succinctly with internal team members and external customers• Strong problem-solving skills; able to recognize issues before they become serious and take corrective action• Excellent self-management and organizational skills; able to manage workload and prioritize• Flexibility to adjust quickly and effectively to frequent change and altered priorities• Outstanding emotional intelligence and the ability to adjust to different personalities and diverse thinking• Budget ownership and management expertise

Additional Preferences: • Prior launch experience• Prior Gastroenterology experience (UC, CD, IBD, etc.)• Prior thought leader management experience• Experience with AoR and/or external partner vendors• Expertise with US affiliate marketing materials approval processes (PCA, FCAP)

Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $150,000 to $250,000 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate's qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).Of course, the compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above. Travel Percentage: 50% (including weekend travel and evenings)
