Responsibilities
- Aligns accessibility capability with Bounteous business and client needs
- Maintains and grows subject matter expertise in the accessibility field
- Collaborates across roles throughout the co-innovation lifecycle (Discover, Conceive, Build) to ensure accessibility / WCAG compliance
- Educates and trains teams on accessibility / WCAG requirements and the use of tailored tools that are used to bake accessibility in early in the lifecycle
- Assists in making our accessibility capability a differentiator against our competitors
- Stays ahead of emerging accessibility standards and technologies (web, mobile, document) and the changing regulatory environment
- Works with Business Development and client teams on project estimation
- Scales team to support multiple parallel accessibility projects
- Engages in accessibility audits and assists with remediation roadmaps where necessary
- Mentor others on the use of assistive technologies from the user's perspective
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of work experience moving into progressively higher levels of leadership and depth of accessibility knowledge
- Expert knowledge of accessibility standards including WCAG 2.1, ADA, and Section 508
- Demonstrated experience providing implementation direction and requirements throughout the lifecycle for a wide variety of skillsets and supporting internal business teams
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and presentation skills
- Ability to train, lead, and prioritize staff workloads
- Experience partnering with experience designers, developers, testers, and product owners to create accessible requirements
- Experience in the development, implementation and/or curation of training materials
- Work concurrently on multiple tasks or projects in an agile environment
- Proven experience driving accessibility in digital, customer-facing programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and iOS/Android development best practices (Should be able to research and recommend solutions in these various technologies in collaboration with developers.)
- IAAP Certification (WAS preferred)
- Expert-level experience in accessibility on a minimum of one platform, and familiarity with a broad range:
- Web accessibility on Windows and macOS
- Mobile accessibility on Android and iOS (Preferred)
- PDF accessibility and digital document standards
- Video and other digital media
- Working proficiency in several of the following:
- Figma, contrast checking tools
- Semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA
- iOS and Android
- Digital assistive technologies
- Automated and guided accessibility testing
