Open to consideration for Full-Time Remote in the U.S.
Micron is undertaking a multi-year IT Transformation to the Cloud that will enable the IT Function to provide class-leading services to the business areas it supports. Providing faster, more innovative, scalable, and agile services will provide more significant insights, increase the organization's digital fluency, and provide services more efficiently. This Transformation will impact multiple data centers and involve the transition of over 500+ applications and multiple backends.
The Senior CCOE Director is a new, full-time and permanent vacancy. This role will help develop and deliver the Cloud strategy and be responsible and accountable for the overall cloud adoption, governance, architecture, and engineering across various cloud platforms deployed within Micron. This will include both Public (Azure, GCP, and AWS) and private Cloud (on-prem), focusing on developing, expanding, and executing on Micron's multiple platform cloud strategies.
Specific duties will include:

  • Reporting into the VP of Cloud, Infrastructure, and Operations, managing a large team
  • Providing executive oversight as opposed to hands-on programming
  • Lead the cloud transformation to ensure the alignment of Micron's mission, strategy, and processes to the IT strategy leveraging private and public Cloud
  • Drive cloud enablement by identifying areas of opportunities across various cloud platforms to reduce cost and improve performance
  • Lead the CCOE, driving efficiencies across multiple organizations and functions
  • Jointly responsible for managing and/or tracking cloud consumption, budget and forecast along with functions to ensure efficient consumption of Cloud optimizing costs
  • Drive early adoption of cloud services by exploring activities and working collaboratively within cross-functional teams to realize the value of cloud and Infrastructure transformations
  • Responsible for managing and driving the talent strategy, which will include the Cloud team having the right knowledge, skills, and abilities to be able to excel in their respective roles and innovate
  • Accountable for the successful delivery of cloud programs, including architecture, technical program management, and product groups
  • Responsible for ensuring cross-functional teams are adhering to cloud standards
  • Facilitate executive steering committee meetings, ensure a metrics measured approach in the delivery of cloud services, and measuring the progress of our cloud migration strategy
  • Manage vendor relationships with our Cloud Service Providers (CSP)
  • The successful applicant will be required to travel


Requirements:

  • 15+ years of IT experience (including complex transformations)
  • 5+ years of Cloud engineering/migration experience
  • 3+ years of experience building and leading a Cloud COE
  • Experience building hybrid cloud (private and public Cloud)
  • Experience in leading a large IT Team
  • Experience in migrating a large body of applications to the Cloud
  • Working knowledge of Azure, GCP, or AWS)
  • Experience managing at least one major Cloud Service Provider (Azure, GCP, or AWS), a Solution Architecture certification is preferred
  • Preference will be given to applicants that have managed a Cloud Transformation
