Business Management
The Business Management job is responsible for providing strategic support for the assigned business area. Under minimal supervision, this job executes strategic business management consulting to leaders by analyzing metrics and presentations to support business strategies, driving business management policies and routines, and being a point of contact for leaders in the execution of business management tasks.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Generates complex metrics and drafts and reviews reports in assigned functional business area to inform decisions on tactical issues that impact the business.
  • Implements policies and procedures in support of the business area strategy.
  • Implements process improvements in the assigned business area.
  • Analyzes and reports on area data (financial, headcount, etc.) and performance metrics.
  • Supports business management projects by documenting risks, issues and action items.
  • Drives meeting planning in support of business projects and objectives.
Educational Requirements
  • University (Degree) Preferred
Work Experience
  • 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred

This Business Management position will report to the Nuveen Global Investments Operations (NGIO) Chief of Staff / Business Management Senior Leader. The Business Management Team ensures cohesiveness and executes business discipline across the team while working to support enterprise, departmental, and business area strategies.

This position will be responsible for providing business management support across the NGIO senior leadership team. This includes the heads of Trade Operations, International Trade Settlements, Separately Managed Accounts (SMA), Portfolio Accounting, Commercial Mortgage Operations (CMO), Business Controls & Oversight, Data Management & Controls, Corporate Pricing and Actions, and several other key functions, in addition to the Head of Business Management.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Prior business management and financial analysis experience
  • Prior experience in the asset management industry, operations a plus
  • Experience managing change, with a deep focus on employee engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both in written format and orally
  • Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders in operations and throughout Nuveen and TIAA (from entry level staff to senior executives)
  • Experience analyzing financials and metrics and translating them into clear, visually effective, easy to understand communications and presentations
  • Experience working under conditions of ambiguity and possesses a team player attitude - open to go above and beyond to get the job done
  • Ability to transform data and metrics into insights
  • Experience in storytelling and preparing presentations for senior executives
  • Experience facilitating large team meetings
  • Strong collaborator as this role will regularly work not only with Operations leadership but also with the Tech team given part of the broader Nuveen Technology & Operations organization
  • Experience working independently, navigating ambiguity and maintaining a calm disposition during times of urgency to meet fast approaching deadlines
  • Intermediate Excel experience
  • Advanced PowerPoint experience
  • SharePoint expertise a plus

Potential Salary: $95,900.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
