Senior Associate - PMO Support Summary:

We are looking for an experienced associate to join our ERP, Automation & Continuity Risk Services practice. You will be working with RSM consultants and clients, utilizing your project management knowledge, expertise, and talent to provide planning, organization, and oversight for multiple types of engagements.

The project management associate will work with team members to monitor project status, timeline, and budget, with a specific focus on increased client satisfaction, improved delivery, better implementation practices, and growing project profitability. At times, you may be asked to conduct additional tasks, like attending meetings to help take notes, reviewing reports, helping with proposals, managing internal scheduling changes, supporting billing and invoicing, etc.

In this role, you will get experience with a wide variety of risk advisory projects ranging from ERP risk engagements including implementation risk engagements, segregation of duties assessments, to data analytics risk projects, to RPA / bot designs, to business continuity planning efforts. This kind of broad risk advisory consulting exposure will allow for multiple career paths at RSM.

In this role, the experienced associate will be reporting to a supervisor for most engagements, but will have the opportunity to lead in some engagements.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work individually or as part of a team to provide project execution on client engagements
  • Contribute to strong internal RSM relationships and clients through positive support and sound expertise
  • Utilizing proven tools and techniques, execute project deliverables in a manner consistent with our clients' business objectives
  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end
  • Work with client service lead to understand project scope, milestones, and hardware and software requirements
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents
  • Identify and track project issues, providing regular status updates until resolved
  • Serve as an escalation point to team members, facilitating prompt and appropriate responses to identified issues and risks
  • Effectively and regularly, communicate project expectations to internal consultants and clients in a timely and clear fashion
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path items
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential out-of-scope activities, and develop contingency plans
  • Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations to help improve project management processes
  • Work with leadership and other team members to develop best practices and tools for project execution and management


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology or related business field of study
  • 2-4+ years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
  • Demonstrated success managing client-facing technology implementations
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
  • Ability to multitask and manage intake with lots of priorities
  • Demonstrated success using enterprise project management software, project planning tools like Microsoft Project, Excel and other Microsoft office product


Plus:

  • Data Analytics or Automation project management experience
  • Prior experience working with audit and compliance professionals a plus
  • Scrum Master
  • Agile Methodology


Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • PMP certification, or equivalent and/or goal to obtain PMP certification soon
  • Ability to travel as needed (est. 10 - 20%)
