Responsibilities

How Will You Contribute to the Company?

Cradlepoint has an immediate opening for a Sr. Manager of Security Operations to support our Global Information Security function. As the Sr. Manager, Security Operations you will be working with the business and information technology functions at Cradlepoint and our business units to enable Cradlepoint's Global Information Security program. You will work to develop an effective Security Operations strategy as part of the cyber security team, to enable secure business operations and missions. The Senior Manager, Security Operations will leverage the knowledge of best practices to be able to support the Security Operations policies, standards, and legal requirements, while overseeing a team of Security Operations SMEs. The Senior Manager, Security Operations will define and execute Cradlepoint's Security Operations strategy, manage the Security Operations roadmap, and manage and work with relevant vendors to solve security issues and problems. This role will require a keen understanding of business key assets and processes, unique business requirements, the Cradlepoint information security program, and combining this information to address residual risk by recommending security enhancements within the area of responsibility.

What Will You Do?

  • Manage a team of Global Information Security Operations resources
  • Responsible for the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of global enterprise systems.
  • Partners with business and security stakeholders to assist in defining the strategic cybersecurity objectives and goals.
  • Assists with setting and advancing the global strategic vision, and execution of all aspects of Cradlepoint's Global Information Security program.
  • Monitors industry information technology and security trends, threats, and regulatory trends to identify strategy-impacting effects on stakeholder operations and interests.
  • Leads the Security Operations (SecOps) Team inclusive of Security Operations Center (SOC) functions that consist of:
    • Monitoring, detection, and analysis activities
    • Threat intelligence activities
    • Incident response (IR) activities
  • Builds and deploys operational response model to ensure security standards and configuration management policies and protocols are effective, followed, and tracked
  • Provide communication or escalation path for information security issues identified by Global Information Security or the business themselves.
  • Participate in reporting requirements, monthly/quarterly status meetings, and offsites as appropriate.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on IAM issues to Information Security leadership.
  • Represent the Director, Security Operations & Engineering at meetings and act on behalf of as requested.


Authority

  • Authority to manage the implementation of Cradlepoint Global Information Security Operations team
  • Authority to direct resources to respond to information security incidents or critical deficiencies to ensure secure operations of Cradlepoint information systems.
  • Authority to recommend decisions on areas of responsibility to the Director, Security Operations & Engineering


Accountability

  • Accountable to Director, Security Operations & Engineering for the efficient and effective execution of position responsibilities.
  • Accountable to Director, Security Operations & Engineering to meet all performance objectives.
  • Accountable to peer employees to ensure all job resource requirements are met and appropriate performance feedback is delivered in a timely manner
  • Accountable to staff to provide leadership and guidance in function and ensure appropriate performance feedback is delivered in a timely manner



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field and minimum 8 years of relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience leading information technology and/or security teams in operations, 4+ years of practical experience building threat-based cybersecurity programs, and designing and implementing security controls
    • Experience in a leadership position within a Security Operations Center is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a geographically dispersed team with global scope and responsibilities
  • Significant demonstrated experience working with Security Information Event Management (SIEM), Continuous Monitoring, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (ID/PS), Network Traffic Analysis, Incident Response, Endpoint Security Systems, Digital Forensics, WLAN Monitoring, and/or Threat Modeling.
  • Expert knowledge of information security technologies, networking, systems, and infrastructure architecture in a global capacity required
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects. Absolute ownership for delivering service and meet business objectives
  • Self-directed/driven, professionally assertive within our core values
  • Ability to manage complex troubleshooting issues
  • Ability to contribute to organizational strategic thinking beyond the area of responsibility. Knowledge of methods for conducting activities that identify and address stakeholders' needs and consulting to and with the business on the application systems' potential impacts.
  • CISSP, CISM, CISA, or certifications preferred
  • Self-motivated and willing to take on challenges while adapting to an ever-changing operational environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent collaboration skills - must be eager to work as part of a cohesive team and work as a partner to other teams within Cradlepoint, Inc., locally and globally
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to gather relevant data and information, actively listen, dialogue freely, verbalize ideas effectively, negotiate tense situations successfully, and manage and resolve conflict
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
  • Ability to handle and maintain the integrity and confidentiality of highly sensitive material and information
