Description
To apply expertise in Automation Anywhere Robotic Process Automation (RPA) development and technical knowledge for the purpose of solving customer business problems and assisting customers in achieving business strategies through the use and application of RPAs in support of the ACM Digital Strategy.
Job Duties
This role understands and executes standard work to ensure the scope of services achieve and maintain appropriate level of risk and compliance to internal policies and procedures, including those relating to governance, scalability, sustainability, cybersecurity, SoX, and IT General Controls.
Incumbents may perform all or portions of the following duties:
Develops concepts and alternative solutions for standard and intelligent automation across one or more major systems within ACM business units based on operational issues, customer needs, customer impact and/or industry trends.
Develops "Business Case Analysis" leveraging standard tools within the Center of Excellence (CoE) to justify investments in project development and/or system support efforts; includes marketing the system solution and its benefits to prospective internal customers.
Works with developers/support personnel to develop plans to minimize the impact of system and/or procedure changes.
Provides assistance to one or more application development groups to define concepts and high-level project plans; plans are documented, monitored and progress is reported to management.
Maintains close liaison with customers to assure business needs and perception of value are met.
Introduces new technologies and develops departmental standard practices for the execution of business processes across the ACM RPA CoE functional organizations.
Provides project leadership, expert advice, and counsel to IT personnel, management, and project teams on the most complex aspects of RPA application programming and development methods as well as for purchased system solutions that will be integrated with our Automation Platform (internally developed and/or purchased).
Drives standards and governance across the CoE as we continue to scale and deploy.
Typically serves as a team member on one or more Lean Digital Transformation projects.
The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others. Based on past experiences and knowledge, the incumbent normally works independently with minimal management input and review of end results.
Typical internal customers include business units and/or service center groups; the incumbent also provides assistance to the ACM Global Team as required. External contacts include extended enterprise groups as well as various companies who provide services to Caterpillar. The position is challenged to quickly and correctly identify problems that may not be obvious. The incumbent solves problems by determining the best course of action, within departmental guidelines, from many existing solutions. The incumbent sets priorities and establishes a work plan in order to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve desired results. The position participates in brainstorming sessions focused on developing new approaches to meeting quality goals in the measure(s) stated.
Basic Qualifications
The position requires knowledge of the Automation Anywhere platform, computer hardware and interfacing of software applications as well as basic programming. Strong analytical skills are required. A good understanding of the Caterpillar organization and its business processes is required. A broad understanding of common business process is required. The position typically requires a college or university IS/CS degree or equivalent IT experience. In addition, eight to ten years of progressively responsible IT-related progressive experiences are typically required.
Top Candidates will also have
An Automation Anywhere developer certification.
Other national industry or technology certifications to include SAP, SQL, ASCM, SME, ASQ, etc.
The incumbent is a staunch Intelligent Automation advocate and initiates effective communication with others outside of their immediate work group to support and enable ACM's Digital Strategy, work on new ideas or to counsel others on change management, etc. The ability to actively listen to others is important to the job.
Additional Information
The location for this position is East Peoria, IL and Mexico- Nuevo Leon-Monterrey
Domestic relocation for both locations, i.e. to Monterrey for Mexico or to Peoria for the USA.
Moderate domestic and international travel required (25% - 50% of working time).
