Job Description

The Resource Manager is responsible for assigning the right people to the right projects at the right time, across all Vendavo projects and geographies. This role reports into the Director of PMO Operations and is a global role. Working with people managers and project managers, the Resource Manager coordinates capabilities and workload to ensure effective management of company resources, balancing client project resource needs, internal resource metrics, employee skills, and continuously changing priorities. Serving as the central point of contact for staffing escalations, the Resource Manager has the ability to quickly analyze the situation, identify potential solutions, and offer staffing options to the Services Leadership Team.

  • Lead weekly reviews with the Services Leadership Team to plan project resource assignments, review resource bookings, work through staffing conflicts, and identify resource availability for pipeline projects
  • Handle staffing escalations from start to finish ensuring that the projects are supported throughout the process
  • Ability to multi-task across various time zones to ensure that there is appropriate resource management coverage for the practice
  • Prepare regular resource supply analysis for the Services Leadership Team
  • Constantly monitor resource assignments and timesheet data to ensure accuracy of forecast to reduce estimated vs. actual time;
  • Compile, lead and analyze resource management reports (available resources, current resource allocations, resource needs due to changing project needs, etc) for delivery to Services Leadership
  • Contractor onboarding and management of subcontractor vendors for staff augmentation
  • Analyze data on resource needs, conflicts, and over/under allocations to drive better business practices and increased utilization
  • Analyze data and make recommendations to Services Leadership Team regarding staffing levels in medium to long term time horizons
  • Review and recommend modifications to internal resourcing processes as needed for project control, operations review and Professional Services support
  • Helps to maintain the Skills Matrix in the Professional Services Automation system; adding or removing skills as the business evolves


Qualifications

  • 2-3 years experience in resource management within a professional services organization
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and analytical skills
  • Proven collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and manage expectations
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential topics
  • Familiarity with forecasting processes and tools
  • Attention to detail
  • Willingness to work outside normal local work hours on occasion
  • Experience using a Professional Services Automation tool to manage projects and resources
    • Nice to have would be Open Air experience
