The role
The Research and Adjustments Specialist is responsible to investigate and process adjustments
forwarded to SoFi from the Federal Reserve and other Financial Institutions. Responsibilities also include processing court-ordered documents serviced upon the bank such as levies, garnishments, writs of execution, etc. Both areas require accurate processing within mandated (regulatory or legal) guidelines. This position will work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure an equitable, compliant resolution in each matter.
As part of a dynamic team, Back Office representatives provide quality service and effective and efficient operational support for the assigned area's internal and external business partners as well as providing advice and assisting with training for less experienced team members. Individuals at this level are expected to use some independence of thought but to refer more complex problems to department management.
What you'll do:
- Research and process all incoming adjustments from the Federal Reserve and other Financial
Institutions
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure adjustments comply with associated
regulations.
- Work with Sofi's legal team to ensure all court-ordered requests comply with associated laws.
- Ensure all entries applied to member accounts are accurate.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to implement changes to the process, when
needed.
- Ensure SOPs are accurate by submitting changes to the Team Leads when necessary.
- Assist front-office staff with questions so they can, in turn, assist our members.
- Assist with settlements, as needed.
- Maintain internal operational and financial controls to ensure that they meet banking standards.
- Proactively identify ongoing issues within operations and attempt to resolve them on an
- immediate basis so that they do not affect member-organization relationships.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates are those who love variety in a fast- paced environment and work with an
exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy while meeting deadlines. Being tech savvy
and possessing strong analytic and problem-solving skills are beneficial; knowledge of banking
regulations are desired. Successful candidates are flexible, dependable team players and self-disciplined
in time management.
The hours of the position will be 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. These hours may change as
volumes increase to meet daily deadlines.
What you'll need:
- High school diploma or equivalent - required
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant banking operations experience
- Deep understanding of how the financial world works
- Ability to analyze data with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong written and communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented, an independent thinker and able to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to meet critical deadlines in a time sensitive environment.
- Present SoFi in a professional manner at all times
Nice to have:
- Series 99 license preferred, but not required. (May need to obtain it in the future.)

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.
