Basic Qualifications (Minimum):

  • Bachelor's degree in technology or sciences
  • Minimum 8 years of manufacturing maintenance focused responsibility
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning processes (incl. FMEA, Control Plan)
  • Minimum 2 years of people management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Reliability Certifications (CRE, ASQ, SMRP, Life Cycle Institute Programs, etc.)
  • Up to date knowledge of state of the art industrial automation technology
  • Experience in implementing reliability focused strategy
  • Experienced at blue print and schematic reading and interpretations
  • Experience with data driven equipment performance monitoring.
  • Possess leadership ability; effective oral and written communication skills; possess organization, attention to detail, multi-tasking, planning and decision-making abilities, good analytical skills, project management abilities, and be creative and a competent team builder.
  • Strong project management skills. Must be able to work independently as a sponsor and a team leader on multiple projects.

Accountability Objectives

This position is responsible for the HSS BU Reliability Excellence (REX), culture change, strategy, deployment, and execution across our locations. The reliability excellence initiative includes the deployment of the preventive and predictive maintenance.

  • Develop reliability strategy and roadmap for REX deployment, training, and culture change
  • Standardize and centralize all REX requirements and system documentation on CI portal
  • Partner with Smart Manufacturing / industry 4.0 Ignition Project Lead to add asset monitoring system and track equipment health and performance for rapid reaction, preventive activities, and predictive to increase equipment uptime
  • Work with maintenance and production teams to improve equipment reliability, maintainability, and sustainable production output by utilizing Preventive and Predictive maintenance tools and technologies as well as analyzing equipment failures
  • Develop and deploy corrective action methodology for repeat failures or major failures
  • Facilitate Kaizen events focused on REX desired objectives
  • Plan and coordinate events for projects and large Preventive Maintenance events
  • Provide hands-on technical support / trouble shooting to solve problems to root cause
  • Work with locations to develop and maintain maintenance documents such as FMEA, Control Plan, standardized downtime reporting, PM and PdM Plans and documentation
  • Manage predictive reliability projects in partnership with the locations and 3 rd party vendors who provide predictive reliability solutions
  • Work closely with outside contractors and engineering firms to execute equipment reliability improving activities safely, on time, and on budget.

Job Dimensions:

The primary purpose of this position is to develop and execute maintenance strategies which strive towards predictive approaches to improving equipment health via Smart Manufacturing.

The incumbent will possess:

  • A deep knowledge of industrial equipment (forging, furnaces, melting, heavy grinding, robotics, and CNC equipment are a plus), process controls, maintenance planning systems, condition-based monitoring, and TPM and/ or REX execution. Advantage in experience with analytics and predictive technologies
  • An understanding of equipment maintenance actions within the reliability framework from a data perspective
  • Experience with condition-based monitoring technologies
  • Strong analytic problem solving: able to develop and use structured approaches to identify root causes and recommend resolutions
  • Project Management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet objectives and key deadlines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
