Regulatory Manager
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for a Regulatory Manager to join our Chewy Proprietary Brands (PB) Team based in Dania Beach, FL. In this role, you will help develop strategies to ensure regulation compliance. You will make sure that necessary documentation is completed and submitted, while forming a conduit between regulatory bodies and the functions within PB. You will keep each department informed of applicable regulations and ensure the regulations are fully and properly followed. You will own compliance standards and influence our operating procedures to be the most trusted and convenient online destination for pet parents (and partners) everywhere.
What You’ll Do:
- Completing feed license applications for new Chewy entities with state departments of agriculture
- Registering and renewing proprietary products with state departments of agriculture
- Forecasting dollar spend of licensing and registration year over year
- Internal and external point of contact regarding regulatory initiatives, topics, and concerns
- Tracking internal label changes, external label requests, as well as ongoing/future label renovations
- Training cross functional teams in pet food regulation and risk management
- Consultant on regulatory topics such as ingredients, labeling, claims, substantiation, risk, etc. to cross functional teams and leadership
- Building and implementing policies pertaining to risk and regulation
- Attending regulatory conferences to track ongoing changes to regulatory guidance and state POV
- Review of all proprietary consumable labeling such as but not limited to: labels, label declarations, emails, copy, ad campaigns, scripts, videos, claims, substantiation of claims, long term proposals
What You’ll Need:
- Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Biology or related science degree a plus
- 3-4 years working in Regulatory Compliance in the food industry (pet food experience a plus)
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle complexity, multiple projects and requests, and short timelines
- Flexibility to work with counterparts at all levels of the organization, including Senior Leadership
- Strong drive for results and ability to bring projects to completion
- Detail oriented, accurate and excellent record keeping skills
- Good judgment, decisiveness, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
- Willingness to seek professional growth and development as the scope of the position increases
- Demonstrated integrity, maturity, professionalism, and sensitivity
- Ability to travel approximately 10%-20%

- Certification by Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS)
- Regulatory experience in rapid growth / E-commerce environment
