Responsibilities

How will you make an impact?

Responsibilities
  • The Regional Managing Director (RMD) is responsible for ground handling operations including passenger services, ramp services, operations and ground support equipment on behalf of American Airlines
  • Develops and directs General Managers to provide seamless and reliable service for customers and their bags
  • Ensures quality ground handling services to retain and attract AA
  • Finds innovative ways to reduce and control handling costs
  • Responsible for station budgets, training and airport relations
  • Ensures stations operate in compliance with all DOT, FAA, OSHA, EPA and company regulations. The RMD acts as a liaison between the company and the FAA and TSA

Requirements
  • In this role, the Regional Managing Director must have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to changing priorities is critical in this position. Effective negotiation and decision-making skills are necessary.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to work in a team environment and the ability to prioritize work and projects in order to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, report to work regularly and on-time, and be self-motivated.
  • College Degree or equivalent amount of work experience
  • Five years of operational experience as a General Manager or in a management position in a hub environment
  • Previous work experience interpreting policies, implementing procedures and budgeting
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Proven work experience building constructive and effective relationships with internal and external customers
  • Experience in negotiating and managing relationships
  • Ability to travel frequently with overnight trips
  • Possess the legal right to work in the United States
  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
