Florence Hospital, a campus of Mountain View Medical Center, in Florence, AZ is a 36-bed hospital offering emergency care, as well as surgical, imaging and laboratory services to residents of Pinal County. Patients have access to a full range of excellent health care across our two campuses.

Tempe St. Luke's Hospital is a 74-bed full-service hospital. Located in the heart of Tempe, near Arizona State University, the hospital offers a broad range of medical services and accredited physicians to care for a diverse and dynamic community including emergency care, surgical care, ICU and medical care.

Position Summary:

Position is responsible for overall planning, preparation, production, serving and operations of the Food and Nutrition Services departments. Position will promote efficient and effective services to include high standards of quality services, a safe environment, relationship building and customer satisfaction for the assigned hospitals nutrition departments within the region.

Required SKILL SET:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures in the dining service program that follow food service regulations.
  • Manages and directs the Department's administrative and financial functions. Prepares and is accountable for Departmental operating budgets and the capital budget.
  • Directs and supervises all dietary functions and personnel and provide leadership and direction for timely decisions and prepare performance evaluations.
  • Is responsible for food purchase, production, and timely service of meals and ensure excellence in service and quality of products.
  • Create and implement strategic plans to enhance and grow nutrition services in each assigned area.
  • Work with other directors to ensure proper utilization
  • Develops sanitation schedule and ensures that food service employees adhere to the cleaning schedules and ensures that work areas are clean, and the equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored.
  • Receives and resolves employee complaints and responds to customer complaints in accordance with Dining protocol.
  • Facilitate routine inspections from regulatory bodies (county, state, and federal) and ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of work routines, procedures and materials used in department; Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and effectively manage multiple priorities; Ability to gather, assess and interpret data.
  • Ability to interpret standardized recipes and perform basic mathematical calculations; Proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to exercise independent judgment in the completion of assignments and duties. Ability to speak and write English language fluently.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree; 5+ years of experience.
  • Prior food service experience in a healthcare setting, required.
  • Must be knowledgeable of Federal and State rules and regulations regarding hospital dietary requirements.
  • Requires a commitment to continuous improvement in all areas of the department.
  • Knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations regarding food practices and handling required.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal relationship skills to be an effective communicator with both internal and external individuals.
  • Maintain and active food handlers permit as require per county regulations.
  • Ability to instruct others in food preparation, service, and sanitation tasks.
  • Must demonstrate successful employment in cooking for large groups (50+ people).
  • Must be able to regularly lift to 30 pounds, to occasionally lift more than 50 pounds, and to spend long periods of time standing.
  • Ability to effectively supervise other food service staff members and good interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the proven ability to lead and manage people and possess excellent organizational skills.
