Records Management Specialist
GDIT is looking for a Part-Time Records Management Specialist to:
- Review existing Records Management training materials, modules, and curriculum
- Help manage the implementation of the Records Management Program (RMP)
- Track records and information assets throughout the records' lifecycle (from receipt to disposition)
- Provide records and information management support as directed to support client agency requirements
- Focus on large scale records collections, scanning and data entry
- Capture paper records by scanning to digital form
- Develop a Monthly Records Management Training Compliance Report
- Provide weekly/monthly reports on activities
- Conduct quality control of document image results
- Ensure that all work adheres to agency/department standards for correctness and quality
- Catalog records data into a content management system (ACF Records Management System)
Records Inventory & Classification
- Records inventory, listing of government agencys records,whether paper-based, microform, or electronic, that indicates:
- How and where records are physically stored
- Volume of storage
- How they are classified for future use and retrieval
- Sensitivity of information and access
- What its retention period is, if known OR its legal, fiscal, and/or administrative value, to determine retention
Retention Scheduling
- How long the records should be maintained in active on-site files
- How long it may need to be retained in off-site inactive storage
- Whether it is a vital record
Records Storage & Conversion
- A filing and storage strategy
- How records are classified for ease of retrieval
- Access procedures for sensitive records
- Where and how active records are stored
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 2+ years of experience
