The Testing Strategy Lead is responsible for leading the planning, design, and execution of testing on a new product with multiple testing components. The Testing Strategy Lead works collaboratively with the internal Product team and external partners to define testing strategy, document test plans, track overall testing progress, and support writing test cases according to requirements.
This role is responsible for setting the strategy and plan for integration testing with external partners and publishing test results to stakeholders. The Testing Strategy Lead should be comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders, and working with our internal QA team to accomplish successful testing leading up to go-live.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define the test strategy for the overall product
  • Collaborate with external partners to define integration test strategy, including test plan and timelines
  • Develop reporting on test progress across the three test areas (internal and 2 external integrations)
  • Effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical sides of the business, articulating issues or needs in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrate strong participation in the SCRUM team when working with the internal team on testing
  • Show willingness and ability to serve as a resource to other team members
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop effective solutions that meet end user and client business requirements
  • Contribute to strategic project teams from kick-off through successful implementation within established timeframes
  • Support production deployments as scheduled, including occasional after-hours events
  • Demonstrate an end-user focused approach to testing
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates or four-year degree, or comparable experience
  • 4+ years of experience leading Software Quality Assurance efforts on complex projects
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of agile development framework
  • Experience developing end to end test plans across multiple integration partners
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Visio


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Computer Science/IS/IT/Math degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize facts and findings into meaningful information
  • Creative thinker
  • Solid attention to detail, analytical and results oriented skills
  • Solid organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously with limited direction while exercising good judgment

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
