Job Summary
The Office of the Chief Technology Officer at the Aerospace Corporation helps bring innovative solutions to the space enterprise through technology awareness, innovative concepts, and rapid prototyping. There are three offices within OCTO that bring these game changing solutions to our customers: Engineering, Science and Technology Hubs, the innovation lab – iLab, and the prototyping lab – xLab. OCTO also manages the company’s internal R&D program and the Aerospace Technical Fellows program which makes up the top 30 engineers and scientists in the space industry.
The Project Coordinator III, internally known as the Technical Project Management Specialist, provides general support to the project management team in support of xLabs project success. This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, CA.
What You’ll Be Doing
xLab Project Support: cost tracking, schedule tracking, placing and tracking purchase requests, hardware receipt tracking and document management.
xLab Metrology Tracking Support– MPS/TRAAS tracking. This includes entering all necessary components in the TRAAS database and updates to the xLab work instructions as needed.
xLab Process, Procedure and Configuration Management: Establish and maintain procedures and systems to support the xLab configuration management process. This includes:
revision management,
logging and tracking of program documents,
configuration control minutes,
ensuring process compliance,
supporting engineering staff in the implementation of configuration control,
providing support for customer and government audits of the configuration management system.
maintaining the electronic document folder structures as current and reflective of the as-designed and as-built configurations
xLab Project Data Management: create and maintain database tools to track specific elements critical to xLab projects.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Typically (5) or more years of relevant experience in business or project management is needed to be successful in this role
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel
Knowledge of Adobe Pro tools
This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
