All Professional Learning Specialists must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Currently, wearing masks and following social distancing guidelines are at the discretion of session participants and the Professional Learning Specialists (unless district requests for all in attendance to wear masks).

About the Amplify STEM Professional Learning Specialist Role
If you love to teach students the power of thinking like a mathematician, scientist and engineer, get excited about the intersection of technology in the classroom, and enjoy coaching and collaborating with teachers, then consider applying to be an Amplify STEM Professional Learning Specialist.
Your job will be to train and coach teachers and instructional leaders to help them make the implementation of Amplify math and science curricula a success in their classrooms, inspiring both student learning and engagement. As a full time Amplify Professional Learning Specialist you will support hiring and onboarding, modeling and mentoring for seasonal Professional Learning Specialists. You will be part of a regional cohort of Professional Learning Specialists and will travel primarily within your region, with potential to travel beyond occasionally based on customers' needs.
Amplify offers unlimited PTO, approved at manager's discretion pending business needs. As a Professional Learning Specialist, PTO is limited between June and September.
Responsibilities of the Professional Learning Specialist:

  • Facilitate initial training workshops and follow up strengthening workshops, both in-person and remote, for groups of up to 30-40 teachers
  • Conduct in-person and remote coaching sessions with smaller groups of teachers or administrators
  • Provide support to individual classroom teachers by modeling, co-teaching, observing, and providing feedback
  • Lead office hours for schools, districts, or participants from across the nation
  • Support team and department-wide initiatives and special projects as assigned
  • Frequent travel required; up to 80-100% during peak summer delivery season


Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Math or Science classroom teacher
  • Proven knowledge of current science instruction and Next Generation Science Standards
  • Proven knowledge of the Common Core Math Standards and problem-based learning
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate professional development for teachers and/or instructional leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology-based productivity tools, including Microsoft Office, Google Applications, video conferencing tools, etc.
  • Able to lift up to 20 lbs. (transporting presenter kits)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching Amplify Science or Amplify Math
  • Prior experience as an Amplify Professional Learning Specialist
  • Master's or Advanced Degree in Education
  • Bilingual Spanish speaker
  • Instructional leadership experience as a coach or school leader
  • Understanding and compassion for the role of the teachers and leaders
  • Experience working with diverse student populations (English learners, SPED, Gifted/Talented, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to implement instructional strategies that enhance participant engagement and equity of learning
  • Demonstrated client/partnership management experience
