Department OverviewThe Global Procurement Organization provides the resources, processes, governance, systems and controls for acquiring goods and services efficiently, effectively and ethically from a diverse supply base that provides Motorola Solutions a competitive advantage on cost, quality, technology, service and delivery. The Product Procurement Organization is responsible for the acquisition of all Hardware, Software and Supply Chain Services required for Motorola to design, build and distribute Radio and Accessory products. The Global Procurement team is evolving from more traditional sourcing and procurement goals by looking beyond simple cost savings and creating value for the corporation by improving product profitability, increasing supplier collaboration and leveraging supplier roadmaps to bring new solutions to our business partners. We are a client focused team designed to bring value and help lead innovations, revenue and savings within the business.
Job Description
Lead the EMS Category team of 4-8 people under the Supply Chain Procurement organization
Responsible for managing categories within the EMS Procurement Category. Current scope of responsibilities is global and includes over $500M-$750M of spend annually.
Develop and execute cohesive category strategies in the EMS space, with focus on developing a supply base to meet the changing requirements based on product needs, business resiliency, market trends, and business environment along with determining long term commercial strategic direction
Partner with the Supply Chain organization to structure commercial negotiations, agreements, SLA's, and total cost of ownership in ways that optimize capital expenditures, operating expenses, and risk management ensuring alignment with their business strategies for revenue growth, margin goals, and customer satisfaction
Lead supplier contract negotiations ensuring a framework for a strategic contractual relationship, managing non-disclosure, and corporate supplier agreements
Influence business stakeholders in support of Procurement initiatives
Define governance around best practices and procurement policies
Provide subject matter expertise on complex purchasing, legal, and contractual issues
Commit and achieve targets for cost reductions aligned with the business leaders through negotiations, event driven activities, and alternate sourcing
Extensive industry experience in electronics manufacturing
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work at various levels of management including internal and external executive levels
Managing a team’s talent and performance in achieving organization's goals, mission, and objectives
Attracting, recruiting, and retaining high caliber people
Developing successors and talent pools for key positions
Up to 25% travel required

Basic Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Engineering
5 years of Procurement Category Management / Strategic Sourcing or equivalent
